A friend of mine just took delivery of a ’04 3500. Great truck and the LLY is awesome. Needs some help in the tire area though, they just look too small for a DRW CC.

How wide a tire can you mount on the stock rims without going with spacers? Any down side to spacers, and what size tires are people running with spacers?
The truck is used to tow a bumper pull trailer that is about 8,000 lbs loaded, although a gooseneck is in the future. Never sees any heavy loads in the box though.

My suggestion. Keep the same size till you can purchase new wheels with the correct spacing. I bought 235-85-16 bfg and they have less than 1/4" at the bulge between the rear tires UNLOADED. Loaded they will surely be hitting. I may be in the market for new 16" wheels now. The cheapest deal I found on new 19.5 wheel/tire deal was $3800. MY WIFE FOUND THE ESTIMATE FOR THE 19.5'S http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

OOOPS!

The 600-$800 for 16"ers sounds much better. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif To her anyway.

Good Luck!
