I just got my set of new Delphi injectors and Dipaco 6.2/6.5 install kit. I have some questions about some of the parts in the kit.

It has 8 return lines, an upper intake gasket, 8 copper seals and other things. Its the other things I'm unsure of.

One is a cardboard ring gasket, about 7 inches in diameter, looks like an air filter gasket. There are 2 caps that look like vacuum caps, they have an 1/8" hole in them. The last 2 things are mini squeezy hose clamps. Just 2 of them. What are these extra things for?

The gasket is either for the air cleaner, the upper plenum, or possibly a transfer case adapter. The 2 caps are for the unused 2 fuel return fittings on the injectors when the return lines are installed. I would think you should have gotten 16 spring clamps, 1 for each return line, and 1 for each cap.

Apparently these are the new teflon hoses that dont require clamps. I havent even looked at the fuel injection setup on these but seeing 2 hose fittings on the injectors I assumed they were hooked up in a chain for fuel return, so the 2 caps and clamps would make sense.

So that just leaves teh air filter gasket thing

Round gasket is for the 6.2 airfilter and the two clamps are for the two rubber plugs in the kit. Hose is supposed to seal without the clamps.

i used the teflon return lines they are awsome no little clips to deal with.. and so far no leaks

so when I leave it idle to smooth out, would it help if I bumped up the idle with my laptop? something like 750-1000 rpm? ooh yeah, and can i cut those new style clampless hoses?

Yes, they can be cut to desired length.

You can get some at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/6-2L-6-5L-GM-Diesel-Injector-Return-Line-Kit-6-2-6-5_W0QQitemZ8070572283QQihZ019QQcategoryZ42604QQssP ageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

How do you proceed with your laptop to bump up your idle to 750 rpm or up?

i have the hoses already.

I can use the software/cable from obd-2.com to set a temp idle, anything up to max rpm

Interesting. I will have a closer look on that bundle. My engine idles at 550~600 rpms when hot and it's a bit too low and makes it clanking sometimes... Thanks for the info ;)

well, it wont stay at that idle level if you disconnect the cable. It's a temporary thing.
