I am wondering if anyone has an answer to my remote starter problem?
I have an Ultrastart remotes started that has started to activate the security system on my 2003 CC D/A when I try to remote start it.
I had the remote start installed from the Stealer http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif before picking the truck up but after a few problems with this starter already and now this I wish I hadn't.
Does anyone know how to correct this problem as I am a 4 hour drive from the next nearest tech (town) that could look at it?

It sounds like your truck is not starting even with the key? If this is the case wait 15 minutes with the ignition off. Don't touch anything for 15 minutes then try to start it WITH THE KEY! Do not use the remote start until you get it fixed.

Thanks for your help MaxPower I have done this and now can drive the truck again. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Living in Northern Alberta my big problem is that to get this thing looked at I would have a 8 hour round trip drive to the next nearest tech. ( as this is the 4 th problem with the remote starter of which the installer looked at but couldn't fix the problem so I had to.) I am unwilling to go to the loacal tech ( lol 3 hr round trip)
Is there some way to reboot the system so as not to set off the Pass-lock? I wonder if the use of the gm key fob at times has confused the bypass modual?
Oh well what was I to exspect from a dealer installed item. Quality work? LMAO

No, using the GM key fob did not confuse the bypass module. I can't really helpy you with fixing the system as there could be a lot of things wrong and I don't know what bypass module was used.
You could make the trip to Manitoba and I will fix it up right for you. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

I have the same prob at times with my dealer installed automate remotestart/alarm. Brought it in to them and they dont know WTF is going on with it. Its enough to make you nuts,- no start with autostart, no start with edge juice, attitude monitor glitches. Can anyone make something that DOESNT interfere with these trucks? Good thing remote start was dealer installed, cause you can bet your a$$ they would blame it on another installer!!Edited by: skidsteerloader

Get them to install a PL-Data bypass and you never have a remote start passlock problem again. It's the only way to go.

The factory system uses passlock. You have to bypass that passlock system.
The PL-DATA is by far the easiest off all the passlock bypasses to install. The best part is that it will never leave you stranded. It costs around $30-50 depending on where you buy it etc.

Thanks, chances are I dont have that particular component Right? I 'll have to look into getting it and have the dealers alarm guy install it. Saw it a long time ago somewhere, must have been doing a search on autostarts. If mine F&^%s me one more time Im ready to wrap it around salesmans neck!!! ( he said they put this system in all their trucks, no probs)

If you're having problems, chance are you don't have that component. To be quite honest, the bypasskit is where a lot of installers cut corners. They can charge the going rate of $75 for a bypass and do it with $10 worth of components. The problem is that the cheaper way is much more likely to cause problems. http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
