There are now quite a few posts in the Performance Section of this forum. You are not a lone with the situation. Most likely MORE widespread than what is acknowledged here. In my opinion, it has a random chance of occuring. Occurs more often on some forum members trucks.
Edge has a software upgrade to fix the problem. However, it does not work in all cases. Hopefully, they are monitoring these forums, getting feedback and working the problem.Edited by: OC_DMAX

My JuiceBox was stamped with an April '04 build date and
it exhibits the no-start condition every once in a while too.
I have found the sure-fire method to start my truck is to turn
the key on and what for 5 seconds, then crank.
I even do this on a warm-start where the glow-plug light goes
out immediately - just turn the key & count to five before cranking....
It is VERY ANNOYING to have to do this though.

NoWake200 05-02-2004, 12:54 PM Terry, I agree about the annoying part. I tried the wait 5sec and that does not work for me, I wait for all the graphics on the Attiude to stop moving. It still give me a problem.
I think it has something to do with tempeture whether or not it is outside air temp or engine temp I do not know.....but so far it does this only when it is warm.
About the build date, mine had a built date of Feb, sent it back for the reflash and got a Apr build date. They said they are going to call back tomorrow. I'll let you know what they tell me.
rickles04 05-02-2004, 01:05 PM if you talk to the right person at edge they will overnight you another box no questions asked.......they did for me anyway 2 times.....best damn customer service i ever seen !

Ha! I just made a post with the same suspicion in the other thread. </v:stroke></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:ulas></v:path><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shape></v:imagedata></v:shape> Mine has gotten noticeably worse since <st1:City><st1:place>Phoenix</st1:place></st1:City> has started to heat up. If I'm right, my truck may be undriveable by the time we hit 110*. I've previously had good success after retraining myself to wait a few seconds after turning the key to start, but that trick seems to be failing me with the higher temps... Like you, I'm getting pretty aggravated. Still, Edge has good service and they have treated me well, so I'm still giving the benefit of the doubt and waiting, though my patience is getting a little worn...
vegasdude 05-02-2004, 06:42 PM They had a nice program with the duramax diesel on spike yesterday with the edge, but with the starting problems, I will wait...............

I posted as "No" but with this caveat,
I did have problem with starting, but since they replaced all 8 injectors on the truck, its just a spin or so and it kicks right over every time.

I have had my Edge/Attitude installed now for nearly a year, never had a problem except increased rear tire wear.
Why wait? lots of fun and excitement awaits!
Go For it!!
BadDog 05-03-2004, 06:01 PM I just got back from picking my daughter up at school. Waited a full 10 seconds after key on and got that damned no start again. It's much worse than before, and I think it has to do with the temps in Phoenix getting right on 100* now. In the last 3-4 days, I have literally had no starts on around 20% (or more!) of my attempts to crank this thing hot. I've never had a no start with the engine cold...
Much more of this and I'll be sending it back and switching to TTS or something else...
Diesel Dragon 05-03-2004, 07:38 PM Bad dog,
Have you tried to remove your juice for a week or so and see what happens. Maybe with the warmer weather your noticing a Duramax problem and not a Edge problem. Easy enough to disconnect for a few days and find out.

BadDog 05-03-2004, 08:48 PM Well, it's possible I suppose. But I *never* had a no crank until the very day I put this thing in my truck. At the moment I'm trying to decide if I should do as John says and just wait, or ship it back for the latest reflash hoping it fixes things, or even ship it back for refund as defective. If someone had asked me what I was going to do with it just after the no start at school, it would have been the latter...
What I really don't understand is that with all the no cranks I get lately, why does it *ALWAYS* crank right up on the restart. Never once failed cold, never once failed on the restart. I can't believe that people smart enough to do what they have done with the Edge box can't figure out what is causing this and correct it. I also find it interesting that only people with the Attitude are having troubles…
SASS 41766 05-04-2004, 04:04 PM I had the exact problem when I had the Edge installed. The dealer changed out the module and that cured it. He said that Edge had some bad ones and that they are correcting the problem.
Trippin 05-04-2004, 04:40 PM I can Get The Edge Chips Wholesale. Iwill Get Prices On them and let evertone know. i will have a price in a couple of hours to post. i can get both the reguluar edge and the edge with the attitude. what is the best price everyone has found?http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big%20Smile.gif i am also trying to put togeather a quadzilla stealth tuner group buy check out that post and see what you think.
I don't know if this group buy actually went through, but if it did....doesn't it make you a distributing dealer? If so you should be in contact with Edge and help us to solve these problems.
If not.....................nevermind. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
flyfisher 05-05-2004, 11:09 PM I installed an Edge
with Attitude a month ago and WOW!!!!! BUT, when the truck was completely warmed up it just wouldn't start. Cold, it started great. It was perfectly consistant every time. Cold start, warm no start. I called Edge and spoke to Matt and he told me to return the Edge unit. I got it back in less than a week. So far so good, it starts every time warm and cold. Matt acknowledged they were having a problem, but they couldn't replecate the problem with the returned units they had. I think I solved that issue with the unit I sent back!!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif The date of manufacture for my new improved Edge is 4/24 I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
killerbee 06-12-2004, 04:21 PM Check out the Group Buy forum, for a new GB on the juice/attitude.
