Do all 8.1's come allison transmission? Looking at 2500 HD not avalanche-:t.....

Yes. If the truck is an automatic, it will be an allison.

In years past, you could get the 8.1 mated to the ZF-6 6-speed manual tranny. Don't know if that combo is still offered though.

The Suburban and AV don't get the Ally, but all 2500HD's do. I dunno about the manuals, but those are very rare.

In the NW the 6spd is non-existant. I looked for about 6 months for a 6spd/8.1 combo and without ordering a new truck from the factory it was impossible to find.
