Had my factory windshield replaced about a month or so ago due to a large crack (In Florida, its free...). Had it replaced by Safe-Lite. After I had it replaced, some people told me that they are prone to problems....

Long story short, it has a slight leak on the passenger side. No water on the dash, just shows up on the floor mat.

Took it back in, they said that it was missing a screw. The put it back in and said it was fixed.

Washed tthe truck Monday, and today was cleaning the inside and found water underneath the mat in the carpet.

Any ideas???

I also have a new wind noise on the drivers side windshield.....UGH!

Old Auto glass guys trick, take a air hose and blow aroung the w/s from the outside with another person inside running there hand along the inside at the same location as the person with the air, note any air leaks with tape and ten take back to safelite, don't let them reseal without r/r the windside if it has more than one area.

I had mine replaced at a discount windshield place. I was just wondering is there a difference in the thickness of windshields? Less than a month after a rock hit my windshield and left crack instantly as it hit. Couple of weeks later another rock hits and leaves a big chip. Recently I went on a trip to Vegas and driving through the desert a rock hits my windshield. I didn't see anything but on the way back I noticed a crack forming from the bottom of the windshield. Now I have 2 cracks and a chip. I'm wondering is it just bad luck or a cheap windshield?

I had that problem when I got a new windshield in my old jeep. The new windshield in my truck has randomly started to crack at the upper left corner. There's no visible impact or anything just a crack.

Yes there are differences in windshields. From factory all of our trucks com with solar ray glass. If you want the same quality as factory, then ask for it. Otherwise you will mostlikely get a cheeper windshield.
