Well almost 24K and my filter restriction indicator is finally making a move. Anyone have any opinions on the Wix brand air filter? Thinking of getting a couple from FleetFilter.com.

The A/C is hard to find and is almost $30!-:t

Thanks!

I run them on my truck. They are good filters.

I went a head and got a couple. A few less pleats and does not have the glue to hold the pleats in place. I guess you get what you pay for!

I just recieved fuel and oil filters for my 2006 from fleetfilters.com Seems like a good deal to me.:cool2:
They are napa gold made by WIX so little question about quality. They were $20.55 and $4.80 each including shipping. Local Napa wanted $46.55 for the fuel filter.
Dont know about the quality of Napa air filters --none for 2006 yet

Well I have less then 1000 miles on my Wix/Napa air filter and my restriction gauge is showing more restricton then my original A/C did at 20,000 miles. Almost 50%!!! WTF!

Maybe my restriction gauge is crapping out.....

I've got 5000 miles on mine and my gauge has not moved. What's the filter look like?

My factory AC Delco filter went almost 50k miles. You probably wouldn't hurt to stick the AC Delco one back in and run it. From what I have seen of Wix, isn't as great as the factory filter. I replaced mine with an AC Delco from O'Reily's.

A few bugs and such on the opening end of the air cleaner but mostly still like new. Obviously it is happening when I hammer down but it doesn't appear to effect the power or drivability much so I guess I won't worry about it. Mileage is still fine.

This filter size or configuration must be on the ragged edge of being too small for the dmax is all I can say. The wix/napa looks like a great filter. As I said earlier the lack of glue lines and a few less pleats are really the only differences between it and the AC. Unfortunately IMHO the AC is the only choice next go round.

Interesting. You may be right about the driving style. I rarely put the hammer down. Most of my driving is open road and, unlike your neck of the woods, if a ricer gets in my way, they just become another speed bump. :D

BTW, that catfish is one ugly spud. Did you catch it in Lewisville? That lake has some huge kitties!
