I see lots of posts regarding codes being displayed on the '03 and up DIC's.


My question is: Will a code, if generated for some reason, be displayed on my '02's little amber display panel, or would a Tech II have to be used to detect any codes?

You just get the MIL (message indicator lamp) telling you a code is stored in the ECM TCM...

My friend told me his truck started running bad, so he disconnected his box....(more to this than the box). The light came on so we are guessing it threw a code. But he said because he disconnected the computer it was removed(code). Is this true?
