I have not taken a good look at mine but I have heard of several guys having the same problem. Especially if you want to lift the front with the torsion bars. Then you can run out of adjustment before your tuck sits level

i havent touched the adjusters yet . there is threads left on the left but almost looks like the right side is backing out. truck seems to sit level, tracks the road in a straight line, but the steering wheel does seem to be a little bit off the twelve oclock to the left. the truck is new i just dont want to take off my chip to take to dealer. im thinking about cranking it a little and see what happens.

I already went through this trouble once before... Best thing to do is have the dealer crank em and do a front end alignment, trust me! But back to your question... after the dealer cranked em and aligned it, I had to look at it... and yes my right said adjusting bolt is higher than my left side, but it won't make a difference on the truck. All it does it get the truck to sit level. Mine drives straight as an arrow and haven't had any problems with it since the dealer fixed my mistake.

thanks StraightDiesel. i think ill just rotate the tires and see if that corrects the steering wheel.

That is normal due to the springs not being identical in load rating, and also one side will be heavier. And sometimes the guy doing the job of adjusting them will go nuts on one side and crank it too much. The best way to make sure it is right, is to park the truck on a level pad, and take measurements on all four corners. side to side should be within a 1/4".

When I purchased my truck, I wanted it to sit higher in front. I tried adjusting them, but could only get approximately 1/2"-3/4" before the bolts were topped out. That is when I realized that the replacement keys were in my future.

One other thing! The driver side will or at least should sit higher when you are not in the driver seat, and you are low on diesel fuel.

Peekok,

I wouldn't recommend rotating the tires to cure your steering wheel problem, just take it to the dealership and tell them you're steering wheel is out of balance and it seems like it needs a realignment... they should cover that under warranty for you. Also, I had to take out my juice/attitude before going to the dealer, it sucks, but you will get a free alignment and not have to worry about it anymore... and then if something happens with the keys, torsion bars or steering wheel, the blame is on the dealer, not you!

My bolts were almost identical when my truck was stock. When I installed the Hill 4WD keys, the adjustments were also the same. When I installed my Rancho 4" lift with the factory keys, the bolts were the same. When I installed the Realift torsion bar relocators, the bolts were the same.

Then I hit a curb head on at 20 mph with the left tire. I swerved to miss a guy who stepped out from behind a vehicle and into the street. Idiot. Anyway, my suspension settled on the left side. The t-bar had twisted in the relocator. I replaced the t-bar and the relocator.

Since then, with both the factory keys and the aftermarket keys, I need 3/8" more adjustment on the left side than the right. I have no clue as to why--everything is fine. I have also been told by many that even a 1/2" difference between sides is not unusual. I wouldn't be bothered if it hadn't been very close before...........
