I have been wanting to put an exhaust on my truck, but I do not know what kind. I honestly do not know that much about them, so a little help is appreciated. Also, what brand and what type of performance I will be expecting? If there are other websites that would help me out, what are they? Thanks in advance.

i was going to go with the mbrp 4" turbo back. i did the research and went to their site and was content on the purchase... that was until i went to the local shop and he convinced me to get the 4" magnaflow turbo back. the sound is what got me hooked. it was a lot deeper and throaty compaired to the mbrp. go to their website and check it out. there is also diffrent kinds of steel. i got the 409 stainless. if you live down south and dont encounter much bad weather go with the less expensive aluminized. but if you live where it can get cold and they use chemicals on the snow get the 409 or 304. do the research and pick what best fits your budget. if you can listen to live versions of each. that is one of the best deciding factors!

Another helpful place to do some digging is in the sticky thread at the top of this section. There are a hundred or so posts about what brand exhaust people are running. That could be helpful also.

02 ECSB- Welcome to the site! MBRP and Magnaflow both make great kits. If you want quiet, go with Magnaflow. If you want a more aggressive sound, get the MBRP. We carry both and have significant seat time with each system. If you have any questions, give me a holler.

i think either is going to be close if not the same. there both 4" from the turbo back and with a flow through muffler. there main diffrence is sound

Don't put too much faith on sounds clips on a web site, it's VERY difficult to reporduce what the systems will actually sound like on your truck! Take a look here to see what people are buying:

That in itself tells the tale of what the majority of members like and purchased!

The differences in sound level are very very small and most folks wouldn't be able to tell the difference in fact. I have had prevoius Magnaflow owners get a new truck and get an MBRP and say it was quieter, the next one says it's the same so on and so forth! The REAL deal is lots of folks are comparing LB7's to LLY's to LBZ's with and without a cat and it makes a MAJOR difference what you compare to!
