Hello everyone!
I'm new here so this is my first post.
I have 95,000 miles on the engine and as time passes, the truck has to crank longer and longer each time to get started. The fuel filter has been changed many times and I wait for the glow plugs to heat up even in the summer.
When new, the truck would crank about 1/2 of a second or less. Now it's 2 - 3 seconds.
Since 100,000 miles is approaching and I will have to pay after that, I looking for suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Most likely injectors are going.

I would think the injectors or lower fuel pressure during cranking for some reason.

With no codes?

Could be alot of things.

Glow plugs
Intake heater (if so equipped)
Compression
CP3 getting weak
FPR, fuel pressure regulator
Pinhole leak in the fuel line

Any other symptoms? White smoke, rough idle, low power, surging, ???

I just bought my '04 so I'm still learning about it and i have no clue how many glow plugs it has. However, my '98 was getting verry hard to start in warm weather and I found out that only 2 of my 8 glow plugs were working. After I replaced all 8, she fired up like a champ.

That's the first place I would look but like I said I'm still learning about my '04.

Actually they start very well without the intake air heater. :D
