Does the dealer have to do them? If they do i need a letter or buliten from GM itself to prove it so i can get my dealer to do it. And what does the ECU upgrade do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.</TD></TR>

Ecm software upgrades will address drivability or problems ....


There are a few for the 01 .... There is a site available to type in your vin and check for TSB's ....

So do do we just take that into our stealer and have them complied with? what is cvn ? Thanx for the help, Billy

AKDually61--I went to that site and typed my VIN number and printed all the TCM and ECM updates. Then I went to my Dealer and told him I have the driveablity problems that are on the updates and the dealer updated all of them. You have to tell them you have the problem before they will updated your TCM or ECM. Say you do wither you do or not if you want the updates.

The more problematic dealers will attempt to duplicate the problem and of they can't, or say they can't, you don't get the update. Since the software is bundled as an all or nothing, just pick one of the more recentlt addressed issues and you'll get all of the old fixes too. Obviously you'll need to identify problems located within each separate software controlled module such as the engine and tranny.

just FYI, theres supposed to be another ECU upgrade coming out for the 2003 dmax/ally. ABS light problems. According to the dealer, the upgrade is on the way but they havent gotten it yet.
