Was able to give PLIII (BETA) good test of towing MPG. Made 1054 mile trip as follows.

510 miles towing 6K trailer from my home to Sacramento, CA includes grapevine and a few hills near home. Speeds ranging from 60-75.

396 miles towing 6K trailer plus 7K+ Duramax from Sacramento to Compton, CA. Includes .5 hour Sacramento morning traffic and 1.5 hour L.A. afternoon traffic (stop and go) and again the grapevine. Exclusive of traffic, speeds ranging from 60-75

148 miles towing 6K trailer only from Compton to my home includes 1 hour of L.A./O.C evening traffic. Same speed ranges.

MPG for entire trip 11.95 by hand
MPG for trailer only tow 12.9 by hand
MPG for fully loaded tow 10.64 also by hand.

Wish there was a way to make a significant trip down here without traffic (you have to see it yourself), but haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Avoiding the So Calif traffic is simple........... you travel between 2AM and 5AM!

What are you power levels on the PLIII?

2AM-5AM is pushing it a little, but you are really in trouble when start and end of drive are in traffic.

Power levels not published yet, but PLIII has stock, economy, tow/haul, race, extreme and security switchable settings.
