: PACIFICP XCELERATOR
Scotty Seelen 04-28-2004, 04:56 PM Has anyone tried the new Xcelerator for Pacificp yet? They claim these are the gains. Just wondering how it compared to the Edge and such, and if it bypasses the speed limiter on the 2001's.
Level 1: 432 hp 730 tq = rwhp (372) rwtq (657)
Level 2: 460 hp 772 tq = rwhp (400) rwtq (702)
Level 3: 505 hp 860 tq = rwhp (445) rwtq (790)
Level 4: 531 hp 974 tq = rwhp (471) rwtq (904)
sdaver 04-28-2004, 05:08 PM I would not believe their numbers but stack it with the banks you might have something........
heartbeatcanada 04-28-2004, 05:29 PM As far as i heard, it does not remove speddo and revs on the 01's. Pnut got one, maybe he'll chime in and let ya know what he thinks of it.

I know they claim FWHP numbers and unless they pulled the engine and used an engine stand too run it on a dyno, (Which I highly doubt) They are just geustamating on the FWHP. I would not believe any company who guesses the HP, and that is what it looks like they are doing.
Who pulls an engine to dyno it, when a drive on dyno is so easy? And why would one not want to know the real rwhp?
Reggie 04-28-2004, 09:19 PM Right on the money with the above posts.More shenanigans in the tuner business.
The decelerator smells of Quad Bullydog program which is really one of the same .The blind leading the blind.
Changing the rated HP makes the brand seem different. In reality it's one and the same just marketing differences. The decelerator is king of trickery.
Do you honestly think the three of them aren't the same?Having all the same characteristics?

PEANUTGRWR 04-28-2004, 11:58 PM WHEN I GOT MY TUNER FROM THEM, PPE TOLD ME THE REASON THAT THEY POSTED THE FLYWHEEL HP FOR THIER NUMBERS WAS BECAUSE GM RATES THE DMAX'S POWER AT FLYWHEEL HP. I ASKED THEM HOW THEY CAME UP WITH THE NUMBERS FOR FLYWHEEL HP. THIER RE-PLY WAS THAT THEY HAVE A NEIGHBORHOOD SPEEDSHOP/DYNOSHOP THAT HAD A DMAX ON A DYNO THAT WASNT IN A TRUCK AND THATS HOW THEY CAME UP WITH THIER NUMBERS. Scotty Seelen 04-29-2004, 04:46 PM So, basically what you guys are saying is that the Xcelerator, Quad and Bullydog are the same boxes. By the way, why did Quad get banned from this site? I most of missed something along the way, or maybe it's none of my business.

I write software for a living, and the hardware or even the user interface has NOTHING to do with the actual tune. I am sure that Quad and Bullydog are geting their boxes from the same source, but this in no way implies the tunes within the boxes are the same. The Xcelerator uses a different chassis, but the chips inside could be the same as Quad and Bullydog for cost saving reasons. Again, this does not imply that the tunes programed into them are similar.

Interesting way to sell it but I wouldn't buy it ...
Well the funny thing is the all run the same . If you were to run the tuners back to back even though one is rated higher or lower the graphs will lay over each other.Try it.
The all rattle, all cannot address the 01 rev limiter and speed limit defeat as I've read here on this forum.
Looks like a duck walks like a duck you get the point .
Sounds like the same tune to me and many others for that matter.Same board same chip same wrapper in some cases same old same old .
Some still think Ezamp is different too and Bullydog Dyno Dominator .
Some say different tune I say different stickers.
Gullibility lives on.
Amric 04-29-2004, 07:38 PM I have yet to see either the BullyDog or the Xcelerator dyno 465 rwhp. If it is somewhere on this forum, please point me to it. If its not, then how can you say they dyno the same.

Can't as none will .They have over rated it to disguise the so called new product .I thought that was understood.
Look at dyno sheets on the 110,135,165,215 tunes available ...

Mike L. 04-29-2004, 10:55 PM There was someone on this board that told me at my dyno day (he had the quad 215) that once or twice when he ran through the loading ritual that the tuner asked if he wanted to load the 155hp program.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif Now, was that an OOPS?

The only thing that I have seen dyno 465 solo is the new big Van Aaken.
The Hot Juice 4.74 and TST Comp are pretty close if the air is good, but typically 446-456.

Don't be foolish.
The OS may be the same, prompts same, and general hardware same/similar, but the tuning is different. lhave tested the 215 Quad in various forms, and the PPE unit is really not close.
I have a guy coming in Saturday to dyno. He has a Bully Dog 150 tuner, AND a PPE Xcelerator. We shall see how it goes. I have a 215 Stealth here to try as well...
Scotty Seelen 05-03-2004, 11:16 AM Did you dyno those three tuners this past weekend? Any numbers?
Kennedy 05-03-2004, 11:27 AM I'm hoping the owner of the truck comes here and posts. He owns both the PPE and Bully Dog tuners.

carterkraft 05-04-2004, 02:16 PM can't tell you have to kill you. he said the bully dog and the ppe ran the same so I am guessing they are red and black, then the other one is the other one.
that torque curve is sick though huh.
Mackin 05-04-2004, 04:27 PM I'd say Blue is 215
Black and red are Bullydog 155 and PPE ...
Mac
Scotty Seelen 05-04-2004, 04:49 PM All three of these tuners produce what they claim.
Bullydog and PPE gain about 160hp and 325lb/tq
Quad 215 gains about 210hp and 525lb/tq
Looks like if you want to go with one tuner for all out performance and you've got the tranny to take it, the Quad is the way to go. The Quad would be VERY responsive to throttle inputs between 1500rpm and 2100rpm.
I'll keep chugging along with my Six-Gun.
