My A/C started making some terrible noises so I took it in to the dealership. They said debris/leaves had gotten into the intake.
Does anyone know of how I can prevent this from happening again? I haven't had the truck 3 months and I'm sure it's bound to happen again.

i dont have a clue as to how ac works, or anything that has to go w/it, but you said the intake got blocked, but would it be possible to put someitme of screenmesh over it, that would stop crud yet allow air to pass freely?

It's because they don't install filters in the A/C anymore. I have had the same problem with ashes and dust from the recent fires here in SO. CA. If you do a search you can find out how to install the filters from the 2002 models. You will have to cut an opening under the dash where the blower housing is. I haven't done it yet myself.
It's no fun getting an eye full of dirt or ashes!

Polar,
I was thinking about putting some kind of mesh over the intake but I have no idea where it is for outside air. Trips every 3 months to the dealership to get it cleaned out will get kind of old.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I really think this is a engineering flaw from GM and in my oppinion is unexceptible. I called GM and voiced a complaint on file re: debris blowing in my eyes, face, body and all over the interior of the truck, but they said oh well we didn't design the filters into trucks after 02.
My brother has an 03 CC and parks it in the garage and doesn't seem to have a problem. You may want to buy a cover for your truck or atleast cover the vent at the base of the windshield while outside.
The filter modification doesn't seem to difficult to do, if your handy with a dremmel tool.
Look up the post I did " Need help with 04" about two months ago.
I feel your pain and I too am not happy with GM's responce!
I think they should offer a fix!
