: Aftermarket seats
ZR1160 05-23-2006, 10:41 AM Eventualy I want to add a roll cage with 5 point harnesses, but I'm kind of big, ( 6'6" with a 56" chest, I weigh 300+lbs and can press what I weigh) so I need to find some comfortable seats, that will fit and not break under the stress.
trx-1noob 05-23-2006, 09:00 PM if your looking at the seats with 5 point harness, they gonna be a tight squeeze for ya. what kind of interior do you have right now?
DURAtotheMAX 05-23-2006, 11:33 PM No Limit's interior works well...
the seats arent too bad IMO, but I wouldnt want to sit in them for a long drive :)
ZR1160 05-24-2006, 07:21 AM I have the 40-20-40 buckets. I wouldn't be using the center consol any more, just two seats.
trx-1noob 05-24-2006, 09:22 AM if ya weren't using the center console, and could get some custom seats with 5 point harness made a tad bigger, that would be sweet. I've just found every seat i've sat in(racing type seats) are made for smaller guys. keep us updated with pics eh??:ro) your truck sounds pretty wicked from your sig.
C.A.P 05-24-2006, 10:33 AM 6.6 300lbs YOU are a big feller there zr1160, how do you fit in the GM interior now ? it is a smalish one compared to others!

I usualy wear out the seat foam and springs every 1-1/2 years, and I can't use the arm rests the come on the higher end modles(shoulder are too wide) and I still manage to hit my head once in a while.
I found a company http://www.kirkeyracing.com/ that will build to order but they are full on race seats, I still want to be able to take my truck on a road trip once in a while.
big truck big power 05-24-2006, 08:34 PM those are really good seats. they are the ones that make sprint car seats for world of out laws an nascar.
i have one in my drag car. an soon to have one in my sprint.
TurboBeagleBuggy 05-24-2006, 09:26 PM I have mounted a few Kirkey seats, I personally don't care for their structure or sturdiness. I think there is better seats out there like Butler, La joie, and a couple of others for example, the Kirkey is very economical though I will give it that much.
05LLY2500HD 05-24-2006, 09:37 PM Damn, yes you are a big fella.............your not mad at me are ya?
I've been wanting to add aftermarket seats myself not for the fit but for the comfortability, I HATE these leather seats.....soo uncomfy on a long ride. Let us know what you decide.
ZR1160 05-25-2006, 08:20 PM Well after a lot of looking around, the issue still seem to be the issue, fitment. Finding some that will fit me comfortably, get a head rest high enough and strap openings wide enough. Also I will have to add a bar for the belts to attach too.
TurboBeagleBuggy 05-26-2006, 12:53 AM I helped mount a set of Sparco seats in a Grand Prix about three years ago, thought that it was completely pointless, but they were decent to sit in.
