: BEST STACK FOR JUICE ?
MaineMax 04-26-2004, 09:05 PM I would like to find a programer that I can stack with my Juice/Attitude that allows me to correct my speedo for my tire size, read codes and eliminate the speed limitor. The HP gain is secondary to these 3 needs.
Anybody have any suggestions?
sdaver 04-26-2004, 09:16 PM tts can give three out of four with a killer hp stack..........but the predator will read codes and reset also.........stacked for hp and stock trannies doesnt go well together the allison is at it limits above 120hp over stock.....the predator will do the deeds Edited by: sdaver
Michigana_Joe 04-26-2004, 10:07 PM The Quadzilla will do all that you are looking for and (unlike the Predator) it isn't VIN locked. Since you have a 2002 you shouldn't have any compatibility issues no matter which tuner you choose.
You will definitely need to upgrade your transmission if you stack any of the tunes with your Juice, but you'd also have a 13 second truck at that point as well. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Bronco 04-26-2004, 10:25 PM FYI,
Predator is now offering for 75.00 dolars plus shipping they will unlock the vin. However the stock tune can not be in the box when returned.

How about for the original price they just quit locking it to begin with?
Bad Diablo Sport....Bad Diablo Sport! Go sit in the corner! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif
Got Juice? 04-27-2004, 01:51 AM IMHO the Predator would be a great tuner if not for the vin locking (garanteed income).
Absolute BS IMO..... if a guy wants to swap it on his other truck he can't???? Total Paperweight other than the diagnotic functions, unless you want to pay 75.00 per unlock.
Bronco 04-27-2004, 02:02 AM Diablosport claims it is required?? Something to do with the dealer can reflash your ECM if neccasary and then you can turn around and reinstall the Preadator?? Is that different then other down loaders?
Got Juice? 04-27-2004, 02:13 AM The power pup and Quad stealth vin lock to the vehicle until you reinstall the stock program...then you can swap it to another DMX!
unlike the predator

That does sound different from the other tuners in that the other tuners would likely need to be reset by the manufacturer before they could work again with a different (reflashed) ECM.
But who cares?
As long as you return your vehicle to stock (unload any tunes) prior to the dealer reflashing your ECM then you will be fine with any of the tuners.
Bronco 04-27-2004, 11:55 AM Too bad the Preadator does not raise the rev limiter, like several vendors and ebayers claim. Emailed Predator directly they said nope!.
Also emailed runninwiththedevil, they said nope.
They seem to think the TCM needs its own programming separate from a tuner?? Funny how bullydog power pup, quad and TTS can all do it?
gmccall 04-27-2004, 02:28 PM MaineMax,
The Bully Dog will do all that (as will the Quad) and may be hard to beat for the money.
I can make my speedo and Attitude read near same MPH with my Quad or Bully Dog. I run 265x75 x 16s.
MaineMax 04-28-2004, 08:36 AM Thanks for the input guys...
Would it be possible to use any of these programmers on there lowest setting and keep my Juice on 4 or 5, and still be safe from smoking my tranny? I would use the programmer for its diagnostic capabilities and then when I get the tranny built, use it for HP gains.
Whats the advantage of the programmer being VIN locked or not?
Thanks again
gmccall 04-28-2004, 08:59 AM I think you could run the Bully Dog Power Pup or Quad on its lowest setting with the Juice/Attitude on no more than a 90 +- hp setting.
From what I read the Allison may not take more than 125 hp. And even then the defuel and tranny protection that the Juice has built into it needs to be working. I would not use a disable function.
I ran Hot Juice 125hp version for a year with no tranny problems.
My new Juice/Attitude (hot) upgrade feels stronger though than the 125. This one might push the limits of a stock Allison. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif I haven't even reinstalled my Quad 215 as of today.
sdaver 04-28-2004, 09:02 AM diablo did offer a zero setting
Michigana_Joe 04-28-2004, 09:19 AM "Whats the advantage of the programmer being VIN locked or not?"
VIN locked means it will only work on *your* truck. You can't let a friend try it out on his truck or sell it to someone else unless you have it reset by the manufacturer (which apparently they will do for $75 plus shipping per Bronco's response).
There was a guy on eBay who was so happy about this that he was trying to sell one for $.01 -- although his shipping was quite expensive if I recall.
Micheal Tomac 04-28-2004, 11:13 AM until someone sends me something better to try I'll have to say the Quad stealth is a good stack with the Juice. It corrects the speedo for tire size, raises the rev limiter to on 02-04's, reads and erases codes, eliminates the top speed limiter
