: New fleet has arrived.........
Unit453 05-19-2006, 12:48 AM New Impalas. I'm siked to get behind the wheel of these new ones. These cars are supposed to be governed at 142 mph. The transaxle tends to overheat after that.
Oh, and the Tahoes are nice too.
This is your tax dollars guys, hard at work.
Did I mention the factory CD players in both vehicles?
Max Power 05-19-2006, 12:52 AM Tahoe looks nice.
OCDUNE 05-19-2006, 12:19 PM Money well spent we hope. They look good.
TurboBeagleBuggy 05-19-2006, 12:24 PM woodgrain in a police car? NICE ):h
Unit453 05-20-2006, 12:24 AM woodgrain in a police car? NICE ):h
Thats exactly what I said. It looks nice I think. Its a shame that in 1 years time, they'll have 40,000 miles and look like a bomb went off inside.
ncshoal 05-22-2006, 01:39 PM Our State (NC) has purchased 10 of these to try out.

I question their durability, reliability, and longevity.
gmperfomance03 05-22-2006, 11:32 PM I question their durability, reliability, and longevity.
Are you talkin about the NC police or the Charger?):h
torozmaster 05-22-2006, 11:52 PM Our school just bought a charger. I think it was more for the humor of it. Our college's mascot is the UAH Chargers. I wonder when it will be broke down.
Unit453 05-23-2006, 12:30 AM It got a Hemi in it or just that crappy V6?
I dont get why one would buy one of those with a friggen six cylinder in it...
Its like a V6 Mustang.......Why bother?
Reineke 05-23-2006, 01:09 AM Oklahoma has some Chargers too. Haven't had the opportunity to meet them personally though...
Unit453 05-23-2006, 01:12 AM I have yet to see one on the road. No where. In fact, we're the only jackasses who are driving Impalas.
"There more cost effective". Sure..So lets go out and get 8 $40,000 Tahoes.
Good job U.S. Gov't. Our tax dollars hard at work.
Reineke 05-23-2006, 01:19 AM On I69 S there was a sting operation going on where the weight station sign said open so the trucks had to pull in, but no one was there to weigh the trucks. There was a Charger there waiting for a big truck to run through. It was all over the radio, so I can't imagine anyone running it. It was the only one I have seen yet. OK used to have B4C's too.
Unit453 05-23-2006, 01:25 AM Lots of states still run B4C's including here. Up in these parts they are a seasonal vehicle. I would love to get my hands on 1 for a few hours.
DuckhunterInTN 05-23-2006, 09:26 AM That Tahoe and the Charger look really mean.
Unit453 05-23-2006, 05:59 PM All the admin guys are getting the newest vehicles first. I think thats total B.S. Guys that drive a desk, do not need a brand new car. Nothing changes.
ncshoal 05-23-2006, 08:14 PM I would hope he was not questioning the Trooper's......YES it has a Hemi in it. They are issuing them to the trooper's with Interstates running thru there work areas. Our B4C's are mileaging out and if the Charger holds up we my be getting more Chargers to replace the B4C's and the Impala's.
DURAtotheMAX 05-23-2006, 11:39 PM can we drive around in the new Tahoe next time I come up? :D
both cars look great!! Have you driven them yet? How do they drive?

No one has driven them yet. And I certainly wont be the first. Honestly Ben, I'd rather spend 10 hours behind the wheel of the new Impalas than the Tahoes. The cars are so much more nimble...Tahoes do not turn on an dime. You hear alot of wheel hop and tires chirping when takin an corner a bit too hard. Straight line speed, as you know Ben, they're awesome. The Imppys can corner at around 60 and still not feel pushed to the limit and absolutely no oversteer. Besides, Tahoes do not have 142mph top end speed....

I assumed they did. I see so many civilian models runnin around with 1 exhaust pipe....
Rogue42 05-25-2006, 12:09 PM B4C's ??
WYOMAX 05-25-2006, 01:40 PM B4C's ??
ncshoal 05-25-2006, 04:27 PM B4C = Police Package Camaro
ski bum 05-25-2006, 05:04 PM our boys in blue here are switching to the chargers. They look mean from the front. It will be interesting to see how they hold up under the abuse
