Alright, I read the fact, but I was wondering. Is there a Synthetic oil for the Diesels and is it good to run it? Also what are my alternatives to the stock fuel filter? I want to make sure my Duramax lasts forever. It takes a flogging everyday and has kept coming back for me. This will be its 3rd oil change.
Also do I need to like empty out of the water in the fuel/water seperator (if there is one, like on the Fords).
What other things do I need to do.

For oil I think the consensus seems to be Mobil Delvac 1 is the best or one of the best.
There is no better fuel filter available to replace the stock without changing the head. You should look into a secondary fuel filter to compliment your OEM.
It doesn't hurt to drain the water separator. It's on the bottom of the fuel filter. You'll need to crack the bleeder screw to get it to flow. You might want to consider changing the fuel filter if you haven't done it yet.
If you haven't done it you should also consider changing your diff oil. Search in the DIY section for Eric's (dmaxallitech) service schedule.

I would consider secondary filtering Either pre or post ... Whether you chose Nicktane ,Racor or Maga all produce very respectable fuel quality ...
