I remember reading that you can fit a larger spare if you swap to a differnt hitch, is that true? Any chance of getting a 37" tire under there?

I have a 285 on a 8" rim. It's pretty tight with that, but I bet you could rig something up.

biggest i've seen was a 35" and that was in there real good..the 35" could be up there but if you hit any big bumps it would prolly come down due to the weight of the tire and rim

I Have A 285/75/16 On A Stock Aluminum Wheels Fits Just Fine

i have personally seen a 315/75/16 which is about 34.5" and if it had been 1/2" bigger it dont think it would have fit. i would have to say absolutely not on the 37".

My hitch is factory but an upgrade is in the works. the diameter is 34.50 " I believe. very tight , 3/8 inch clearance of rearend. Look in my garage for pics

thats good to know as I am getting my H2 takeoffs with 315s put on tommorow. I will also have them put on the spare also
