Does anyone have Baldwin filter number's for the inner and outer spin on filter for the Allison.
And does anyone have anything good to say about the Baldwin tranny filters or a suggestion on where to get good filters for a good price for the Allison?
Thanks in advance,
Matthew

Matt, the only thing I have noticed that could be an issue is the magnet covers all the holes in it. The OEM filters seem to be better as far as that goes. But I never heard of a problem with them
You can get the Baldwin filters from many sources, one that comes to mind is www.kennedyfilters.com (http://www.kennedyfilters.com). He is a full line baldwin dealer.
If you want OEM, check out www.gmdieseltech.com (http://www.gmdieseltech.com) or your local Allison dealer.

Thanks for the replys.
Shark Bait, do you use the external filter and have you had good luck with it? Also where do you get your internal filters if Baldwin does not have a listing. My dealership wants $30 a piece for them.
Thanks Again,
Matthew

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif Going' Pullin' I have several Baldwin BT 8460 external spin on tranny filters but have not used one yet. Been waiting for a deep Allison pan from the local Allison dealer for about 4 weeks. It should be in next Thursday and then I will put the new pan on, install a new long internal filter (Allison filter $21.22), Baldwin BT 8460 Spin-On, flush the system and install Schaeffer's 204S fluid.
Allison says the internal filters only needs to be changed when the transmission in overhauled. I plan on changing the external filter once a year (I don't drive many miles in a year) and then drain and refill the pan every 25,000 miles or so. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif
