I finaly got around to looking at why the go pedal was so stiff. I had read somewhere that you could remove one of the tension springs. That solution worried me a little and since I could not just remove a bolt or two to remove one of the springs I decided against that solution. What got me was the fact that it alwasy feels like a second stage spring kicks in before you can go to the floor and I didn't see one. On further inspection I noticed that the bottom of the accelerator pedal contacts the floor before WOT and that sucker has a spring too. I removed that spring and can not believe the difference it has made. It has got to be good for additional 15mph minimumhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif.

I was worried about the pedal not being in the correct position but I drove to work this morning and never even noticed a difference except for how easy it was to light the tires by givein a little to much foot.

Thats funny....Maybe the Duramax's are stiffer, but my gasser is WAY to lightly sprung for me. Of course this is my first vehicle that is drive by wire, so I'm not feeling the slight resistance that a throttle cable gives you.

Myself, I feel it could use MORE spring pressure, as when on bumpy roads, my foot seems to float on the pedal, constantly blipping the throttle on every bump.

I had the same complaint when I would drive my Fathers '95 Diesel Suburban (drive by wire also). Guess it just takes some getting used to.

BTW, 1003 miles and I'm STILL not used to it. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif
