Hey guys, im considering purchasing a 3 car transport trailer and would appreciate any feedback, pros, cons, requirements. I live in florida and there is plenty of transport work here.

You must follow the same DOT requirements as the OTR big rigs. The big ticket item is commercial insurance; then, obtaining a CDL, register truck with USDOT and FL state DOT. The guys pulling FEMA made lots of money until they lost the FEMA exemption from USDOT regs.

Also on the trailer, consider getting 102 wide and a trailer track. That opens the market a little more.

How about sharing some info on all the Florida work, I looked last year down there and other than hauling auction stuff for next to nothing I could not find anyhing.

I see this post is Kind of dead but I hauled with my 2003 Duramax for about 1 1/2 years and I realized the depreciation on my truck kicked my *** as far as actually making any money in the long run. Also i dont know about the roads in Florida but tires here in texas were doin some *** kicking as well. Good luck though!

i have an 06 lbz pulling a proloader kaufman 4 car hauler out of orlando. Plenty of money in it just don't sell your truck and your depreciation won't matter. just save up and step up to a bigger truck then let someone drive your old one keep some of the money and so on and on and on etc.
