I installed my UMP air filter today! I must say it is an impressive piece of equipment. It is a tight fit for sure - but with a little care it fall into place. I took it for a spin with no noticeable noise increase. Like BlueOx I believe the throttle response is slightly increased. The way the intake is oriented to the front allows you to feel the air being pulled in. I had my son punch the throttle a bit while I place my hand a few inches in front of the intake - an impressive amount air moving through that thing!http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif Recommended system so far!
I think my wife is going to use the old UNI as a sun shade for her plants - lets through just enough light without burning the little suckers.

Installed mine prior to a 1K trip this weekend. Awesome set up, easy to install (relatively). Uni is now populating a local landill. Will swap oil at approximately 3K, and see what the oil test reads. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif

Still running Uni, still making power, still returning single digit silicon levels, and AWESOME ferrography/particle counts...

Tight might almost be an understatment. I had to loosen all the clamps on the intake, raise and lower the hood a 100 times, make a new tube for the filterminder (because the one they sent me would not work) and adjust the head light (Don't drop it, it will knock the alinement out and scratch the plastic). Was it just me or did anyone else have these problems also. AND now the filterminder gets pulled down to the first line everytime I drive it, indicating to me that the filter is restricting the air flow more than the UNI or the stock filter ever did.

I like your Filterminder mod - I will probably do the same thing. Mine is resting on the small overflow radiator hose. I don't have the same issue with the minder pulling down a notch under a load. The kid fired up the RPM while I watched and it hasn't budged.
I scratched up the bottom of my hood with the first couple of hood closings - but it appears to be clear now.
I also scratched the UMP housing trying to get the thing in there - not too happy about that. I'd like to see a more flexible clamp system that doesn't scrap up the case. This will be an issue as every filter change.
Another modification adventure underway....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wacko.gif

It's a 1/2" water hose with the elbow preformed that I got from NAPA. Just cut it down to fit.
The hood was no big deal. The scratch's on the filter i was not happy about. Dropping the headlight assembly and scracthing that really pissed me off.
Is your stock intake tube rubbing on the wireharness also?

So where does one get one of these little suckers and what do they cost?

But if your not in a hurry to get one. (Willing to wait a couple of weeks) I might sell you mine. I need to pull the UMP off and install the stock box and see if the filterminder still pulls down. If it does then I'll chock it up to the fact that I'm running a predator. If it doesn't seams to me that the UMP is restricting the flow. Hope I'm wrong on that one.
