I just picked up a 1989 3/4 Ton 4X4 Suburban, and I am looking for any great forums like this one for some good info... Also anybody know where to get a good crate motor for a good price...

lots of sites, just use google to search 'crate engines' depends on what your looking for and etc as to who has the best price

I used to have an 85, came factory with duals and no cat, since I believe it had the M code 350 and a turbo 400 trans, pretty sure it was the M code..whatever the forged rod and 4 bolt main engine was...had 60k originial miles andno rust and snagged it for 3200, should have never sold it.

Where are you located? I purchased a new 350 crate engine for my 87 K5 Blazer for $1,600. The Chev dealer is in Washington State. Shop around, not all dealers offer the best prices. Good engine, runs great.


Now if I can only put a Duramax in my Blazer for that kind of money.
