I use Shell Rotella 15W40 also.

Whoops! Just noticed you're in Alaska. You would be better served by going with Rotella 5W40 synthetic. It is much better for cold climates.

In Alaska I would use:
Mobil Delvac-1 Synthetic 5W-40
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 (Same oil as Delvac-1)
Shell Rotella-T Synthetic 5W-40
AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Oil 5W-30
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel & Marine 15W-40

All are API rated CI-4 for the Diesel engines with EGR.

My choice would definitely be synthetic up in AK.

Next we will be seeing a recommendation for Wolf's Head oil

What would be wrong w/ the Super Tech oil of it carried a CI 4+? I know the O'Reilly's brand 15-40 has a CI 4+ rating on it. I'm not saying I would use them, just wondering what it would hurt if it carried the rating. Actually, I think the Wal-Mart brand (super-tech), has a CI 4 rating.

Another endorsement for Super-Tech oil! How about one for the Fram oil filter...they're great, especially the one's with the grippy black stuff on the end to make it easy to twist them on real tight....

Nothing but Shaeffers for me. I put it in everything. I believe the Moly in the oil saved my 6.5 when my oil cooler line blew off. I use it all...engine oil, tranny oil, diff oil, and fuel additive.

Usually I use Carquest filters...unless its payday weekend, then i try to get OEM.

I NEVER use anything but AC Delco. Period.

Fram filters inside are something like little kids made in their first art class.

NAPA Gold filters all the way around for me. Get them from http://fleetfilter.com/index.html They are less expensive also. My LLY fuel filter is almost half what a WIX is on the shelf.

For oil it is Rotella T 15W40 in the Truck, Car and Tractors.

I wouldn't run a Fram if they paid me. I use Amsoil 15W-40 HD Diesel/Marine and either a Amsoil, Baldwin, Wix or GM filter. I know it's overkill, but I changed oil and filter every 6,000-7,000 miles in my '01 K2500HD LB7 and I'll do the same with the new one after I switch to synthetic at around 10,000 miles.

You have personal endorsement! At 150 yards downrange the bright orange cans make excellent targets! :muahaha:

Haven't had first oil change yet(Only 1025 miles ), But in my 03 Ram Dually I
use FleetGuard Filters/Rotella 15W-40 and will continue in my Duramax. I
tried the Rotella Synthetic 15W40 in my Ram after 20000 mi. but with changing every 4500 Mi. I could not afford the additional cost.
