I've done many tranny rebuilds before but the Alli is new to me. I've got an 04 LB7 on order thats getting a Trans-Go installed before I ever mod it (for power) and I was wanting to know how much it has cost most of you guys to get the Trans-Go installed. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Wes,

Don't know how much performance mods you're thinking about.....but since you'll have the tranny out anyway...and apart. Why not think about other upgrades? Clutches and torque convertor. You'd hate to pay to have the tranny removed and taken apart for the TransGo and turn around to do it all over again to put in clutches and torque convertor.

Thought I might be able to get by with my "Little" 110 hp tuner or alternatively my LP injection......but I was wrong. Going to get the works.

Just some thoughts,

Wayne

P.S.

I think most have paid $1000 to $1500 for labor.....when going with the full mods.....not just TransGo.Edited by: Sandman

I get 1500 for a transgo installed. Includes reclutching the top half (C1,2,3) and deep pan. I also do a few things that those in the know have found and i have found to help make this unit last a bit longer. Add for transynd if you want that, and add approprietly for a convertor. Figure 1000-1300 for that.

Replacement of the C4 clutches requires total tear down. If your C3 is damaged, your C4 looks even worse. Don't let it get to that point.

I'm going to do at least do the trans go as soon as I take delivery of the truck. So no limps no slips ever prior to the trans go. Now after just depends on how nice am to it.

You must be using the second generation fold in half clutches.

LMAO

Actually, they are powedered, when the trans heats up, they bond to the old frictions. Its the new thing, you dont have to replace the burned up units anymore.. Just pour this powdered stuff down the dipstick tube, drive it a bit and viola!. We have lots of this stuff over under the brake lathehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

how long do you need the truck on a 4x4. Can it be done on a weekend?

Steve get his 3 disk out yet and any impressions on it?

Phil, Install can be done in less then a day, and less if we dont have any barley pops. I am not sure on Steve's triple yet, but I am sure it will be top notch. He is not one to release something until its a close to perfect as it can be.

My mods will be a Quad 135 or 165 ..maybe stack with an edge later.

I need a GOOD tranny guy in Georgia...

What should I go with stage 2 or 3? Sun or ATS or who?

Money IS a concern!!! The wife is gonna freak when she sees the card!!
