: Attitude mounting places
Slick 04-25-2004, 12:04 PM Do any of you have any cool mounting places for you attitude monitors? I'm not a big fan of the mounting hardware that comes with the kit. I drive a 6.0 liter powerstroke now but am going to sell it for a duramax in the near future. Many of the people on those forums mounted them in the overhead. Is there a way to do this on a silverado? Pics of mounting places would be great, thanks in advance.

Slick 04-25-2004, 01:16 PM Thanks a bunch. I should've thought of searching first.
BIGMoe 04-25-2004, 01:41 PM sshaffer, someone has an overhead console all set up on ebay right now. DURAMAX EDGE ATTITUDE OVERHEAD CONSOLE MOUNT (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2475193084&catego ry=33695&sspagename=WDVW) . Not sure if this is what you are looking for or not.Edited by: BIGMoe
SASS 41766 05-04-2004, 04:08 PM The overhead cousole mount looks good but it is hard to read temp's when you are climbing the mountain.
ratlover 05-04-2004, 04:46 PM I made a braket outa steel amd painted it with that spray on bedliner in a can stuff so it took on a textured look. Mounted that to the steering colum on the left. I'm tall and I mounted it utill I could read all my DIC and read all of my trany temp guage and the only thing it cuts off is the tac up to 800 or so durring regular driving. I secured the whole thing with velcro(easy off for trips to the dealerhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif). Its about even wuith the hazzard button front to back. It held well untill this winter with plowing and I whacked a speed bump and sent it into orbit. Added a bit more bracing and its all good now. Ran the wire between the steering colom and the dash. I really need to get some pics......
Perfect place IMO. It took some monkeying to get it were it didnt obstruct the view if any of my other guages. Its one of the few places I have found that you can view it and the rest of your guages fairly easily. And you can read your boost pretty well for launchinghttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif Only place more in view I think is on top the dash or off the pilliar. Edited by: ratlover

Well it is a little harder to see if that's what you want to look at all the time....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
But to me, the fact that Edge has set this thing up with audible warnings and de-fuel capability as well as on the fly power adjustments for changing road conditions, is what makes it so attractive.
You just set the parameters you want and it monitors them more closely than you can, and if one is exceeded, you get an audible warning besides de-fuel. So why do you want to look at it all the time?
Just my two cents on the reduced visibility thing...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif
Now if they'll just get it released for my LLY...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
LA DMAX 05-04-2004, 11:59 PM Just wondering about that ATS mount, is it easy to take off? You know, for those trips to the dealer. Thanks.

CntrlCalDmax 05-05-2004, 11:15 AM Chad,
Did you use the Edge pivot mount? If so, how did you mount to the column? Screws, tape or ....?

FulltimeRVer 07-18-2004, 09:06 PM This a little off the subject.....
I leave my juice on the same setting all the time. I was wondering how many of you change to different levels on the fly?
allstok03Dmax 07-19-2004, 05:07 PM I change mine all the time. especially when some one is ridding my butt. lvl5 seems to get them to back offhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif.
RickDLance 07-19-2004, 08:48 PM I made a small alumn bracket that simply snaps over the air bag shutoff area. It tucks behind the outer dash panel and requires no screws and works great angleling the attitude towards the driver. None of my trucks are here right now, but I will try to post a picture ASAP. BWdiesel 09-03-2004, 03:00 PM The cleanest installation I have seen is the ATS. You can even order them with two toggle switches to wire up aux equipment (front and rear lights). I know a guy who knows a guy where I can have them shipped to your door for $69.

somekevinguy 09-03-2004, 04:50 PM I think the location that the edge mount uses is the best one but I hate the arm that they use. I think a little color and texture matched pod that the Attitude fit into that you just stuck on top of the dash would be the best solution. Just wish someone would make it.
wsucowboy 09-03-2004, 04:52 PM hers is where i put mine, I have a DVD player so i didnt need the little satellite tape deck so I just bent up some strap steel and used some JB weld to stick it all together!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/new_phone_045.jpg
2fast2 09-04-2004, 11:20 AM I have mine at the left edge of the dash, using two little pieces of self-adhering velcro on the lower corners of the Attitude and the dash, and one piece on the A-pillar and the upper edge of the Attitude. This way I can remove it whenever I want, hide it down in the fuse box area (stealth for less than ideal parking areas) and easy removal for dealer visits. I fished the wire through a grommet above the brake pedal.
This position is ideal for viewing, controlling or switching, removal, and it doesn't block my view of anything else. It isn't the prettiest installation, compared to some of these panels other guys have, but this is what I want. To each his own!
Good luck.
Apparently Propod makes a mount for it as well - maybe for the A pillar like the X-monitor, not sure.

motovet 09-05-2004, 08:38 PM If you are using the Attitude for your only guages I would put it somewhere in front of you. I had mine right in behind the hazard flash button before I got my ATS mount, and I could see it much better. Trippin is making an overhead that should help with the viewing though. I don't look at mine much anymore anyway so I wanted the cleaner look. As far as changing setting goes, you WILL be tempted to switch up fromk time to time if you have a stock trans. untill you are forced to ugrade by....switching up toooo many times. Once the trans. is done there is no longer the need to switch DOWN unless it rains.
flhrciblueice 09-11-2004, 04:43 PM Mine is mounted on the sunvisor with a couple of rubber bands for now.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif I can post a pic in a few days if anyone is interested.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif
