Looking for a little help. I have an '04.5 GMC 3500 Crew Cab, bought new in June of 04. It currently has 24k on it. I have never had any issues with truck, however, am starting to experience some "gremlins" The air bag light is coming on intermittantly, and sometimes when the turn signals are activated, both flashers will go. Sounds like a clock spring?

While the truck is in for service/warranty, I have several other things I may want addressed, my questions are:

1) Reflash or not? Never had it. I run an edge, that also probably needs updated. I was originally a Beta tester for the LLY product, then received their early production version. I get some knocking at about 176-179 degrees, right before the edge becomes active.

2) I have several other small warranty issues as well, that need addressed but nothing major, paint peeling on stereo controls, noisy window regulator, .

3) I am running no cat and no muffler, not throwing any codes according to scanner. What are the chances of getting codes if reflash occurs?

I plan to get the edge updated as well, if anyone has any info on proceedure or issues, please advise.

Thanks for the help.

remove edge and put the cat back on before you go. If they see one or the lack of the other they may or may not deny any claims pertaining to it.

Bludool, I have a 2004.5 Chevy Crew Crew Cab 3500 LLY (http://homepage.mac.com/gadgetnut/PhotoAlbum6.html) I am running a heavily customized rig, incl. Edge Attitude and no cat. Ever since West Coast Diesel straightened out a few installation bugs, I also have had no problems at all. I recently moved to a different state. Before making an appointment at the new nearby dealer, I stopped by and spoke informally to a service writer, asking if they have a strict view on aftermarket mod's. The writer said no, not really, unless you're asking them to repair a problem that appears to be caused by your modifications. I asked them to fix the steering wheel clunk under warranty, which they did. I, too, had been running no codes, so I asked them not to reflash unless necessary. Anyway, I got the truck back, no problems, no questions. Luckily, I'm not experiencing engine management issues, but if I were pursuing warranty service on engine related issues, I would definitely remove Edge, restore cat, etc. before moving ahead. Good luck.
