Hi,

Just discovered this forum thing, I am fascinated!

My 93 has about 195,000 on it. Runs great.

Never really thought about doing any mods but now I think I wouldn't mind tinkering with it. Thing is, I am at a loss on the diesel engine.

What are some easy and economical (I am NOT rich) things to do that will improve fuel economy? Oh yeah, and power too. Any specific supplier suggestions?

Get a bigger full exhaust system and a good air filter or intake kit for starters.

Get a Duramax is another option...

WHATEVER YOU DO TO YOUR 6.5 DONT EXPECT ANY NITE-DAY CHANGES IN ITS PERFORMANCE. 6.5'S HAVE THIER PLACE AND PERFORMANCE ISNT IThttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif. IVE RAN THEM ON MY FARM FOR OVER 10 YEARS. WE DONT PULL HEAVY LOADS WITH THEM OR SUCH AS THAT, BUT THEY DO GET GREAT MILAGE AND ARE GREAT TRUCKS IF THEY ARE MAINTAINED WELL.

yup, I would agree with PNUT, to get significant power gains requires SERIOUS dollar injection, as its all hardware required to do it (18:1 pistons, add intercooler, bigger turbo, do something to hold the bottom end together, bigger rad/upgraded cooling system ect ect...)
