http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gifHey guys my brother was on his way home to SE Georgia and put 23 gallons of regular gas in his 2002 Duramax diesel, about 5 miles down the road he started losing power and it quit running. After calling me and checking the draining the fuel filter he found the reciept for the diesel he filled with and realized he had filled with gasoline.

What has he done to his motor? Easy fix with draining tank and refueling and priming fuel system with diesel? Any long term damage?Edited by: gr8gift

We have had the PDI guys put gas in diesel and diesel in gas a couple times. Drain and refill, new filter and they're good.

Thanks to all who responded, My brother was really concernd. I will pass on this information to him. He has had it towed to his hometown and to the local GM Dealer, whom he uses for all of maintenance. However, they do not have much experience with Durmax Diesels

He said that he would, tell them what you all stated to do. Does he need have them bleed of the injectors until they get good Fuel? or is priming going to take care of this.</TD></TR>

I have had a couple of Ford customers put gas in their diesels, thought http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gifthey had trans troubles. We just drained the tank and put diesel in, no filter, didn't need it. Everything turned out fine. Tell you guys one thing; when you mix diesel and gas in a diesel engine, not only does it not have power, but you cannot breath when you are near it. Nasty stuff. One customer that did this said to me " mike, how could this happen, i don't even drink?" I says " maybe you should start" http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
