I had a report that a fellow DP member had an 01 LB7 on the dyno and could not get it to hold 5th gear. He stated that it downshifted into 4th every time. What could the cause be?

Funny Bobo, when I commanded 4th it stayed there and didn't upshift. But couldn't keep it in fifth. Worked on my truck, so I think I was doing everything right.

You commanded TC lock and 5th gear right? I know that if you don't command both it will not hold it.

Disable BiDi control at 2400 rpm and above?:(
Where as a late TCM is 3657-4000 rpm depending on which gear your in.

I overlooked that....damn it. Thanks for the pointers and I apologize to Rob and Nathan for not finding that before they hit the rollers. Looks like you will need to get a license for Nathan's TCM and program that out. One other thing to try, swap Rob's TCM into Nathan's truck and see if it will hold a commanded 5th gear. I wouldn't use Rob's TCM in Nathans truck on the street. The older the TCM the dumber it is. The dumber it is, the better it works!

No apologies needed. Thanks for all the help Bobo. We'll get it done next time.
