3500dmax 04-24-2004, 03:51 PM Everything was looking good until I saw the Red Wings hitch cover http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Nuke.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Throw Up.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Nuke.gif

allstok03Dmax 04-24-2004, 09:25 PM that's really nice. I just bought the same wheels with a 325/65/18 terra grappler. thinks for the pics. I'll post mine thursday when I get my lift put on this week.
Watch the Leafs fall in the Spring
GO FLYERS!
maynard9089 04-25-2004, 07:48 PM The Leafs are Cup bound! But next years Buffalo's time to shine!
TheBac 04-25-2004, 09:37 PM OK, OK, OK....
Silverado,
sorry I hijacked that one...but the Wings will win. Period. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Back to our regularly scheduled thread.....
Those new wheels & tires really set your truck off nice.... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

3500dmax 04-26-2004, 04:00 AM I'm hoping for a San Jose vs. Tampa Bay finals! The Red Wings will not win the cup. The Flyers will choke like they always do. I wouldn't mind seeing the Leafs win but I don't know if they can withstand all that pressure if they make it to the finals.
Silverado Man 04-26-2004, 05:07 AM Wings will win period!

Truck looks great! How does it pull the trailer in the background? I would like to do the same wheels and tires but am concerned about pulling my fifth wheel with less than 10 ply tires. Some tire shops are saying I could lose stability with less plys even if the weight rating is higher than my stock 10 plys???? Example Toyo 285/60/18 is weight rated at 3086lbs but is only a 4 ply tire.
Goodyear now makes a 275/65/18E in the wrangler ATS that I have considered but it just doesnt look wide enough after seeing yours. This tire comes stock on Furd "Harley Davidson" 250 & 350
Silverado Man 04-26-2004, 02:45 PM The Nittos are an 8 ply, D range tire. I would anticipate no problems, but I have not pulled the trailer yet. My trailer is a 32' 10,000 lb full.

allstok03Dmax 04-26-2004, 05:08 PM Silverado man. is there anyway possible I could get you to take a pic of the truck from the back side. So, I can see how much there gonna stick out on my truck. I have the same wheels with the 325/65 tire. So, if you wouldn't mind that would be great. thanks alot.

How many turns on the torsion bars and what is the back space on your wheels? The combo is one of the best I have seen. Those big Nittos look great. Thinking of doing the same to my truck...any words of wisdom...any glitches in getting them to work without rubbing?
Thanks
allstok03Dmax 04-26-2004, 07:35 PM thanks for the pic. Mine should be pretty similar to that. I bought an RCD lift for mine so it on increases track width about .50" on each side. do you have any problems with excessive over spray from the tires. thanks for your help.
if they're the same as mine which they should be. then the BS is 4.50

Silverado Man 04-27-2004, 05:34 AM Motohead,
Chad is right, the backspacing is 4.50. The torsion bars are cranked up all the way. I have no bouncing because of the Bilsteins. You will have alot of cutting to do on the bumper (which mine is for sale if you are interested) and on the backbottom just behind the wheel molding. Lot of work, but worth it. When the tires are new you still have to be carefull turning with bumps.

allstok03Dmax 04-27-2004, 07:43 AM Silverado man: how do the tires ride. do they have alot of tire talk going down the road or are the fearly quite. I'm gonna be dropping my truck off today to have the lift put on. I'll have it back thursday. I'll make sure to take plenty of pics.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

gonemax 04-30-2004, 11:00 PM hey nice wheels, how are those terra grapplers. how long have they been on and do they rub in the front.did you have to cut the bumper
mahalkita 05-03-2004, 05:17 PM Hey S M
I really like your wheels. Did you install a truespeed etc. to recalibrate the shiftpoints for the Allison because the new wheels are roughly 33.5 inches instead of 30.7 inches.
Regards
Mahalkita
Silverado Man 05-03-2004, 06:01 PM gonemax,
The grapplers ar great and they have been on for about two weeks now. I did have to cut the bumper for the 305 16" I had on it before.
mahalkita,
Yes, I do have the Truespeed installed and I have a buddy that is a State Police Sgt. laser me for a good calibration.

dkinsey 05-03-2004, 09:17 PM I have had 285-60-18 Terra's for about 30k and probably 10k pulling a 14,000lb 5th. They look like they might still have 10-15k left on them. No rubbing but I still raised the front to level the truck. Ride is very nice.
allstok03Dmax 05-03-2004, 10:00 PM after installing the 325/65/18's this weekend the speedo is WAY off It's about got me pulled over quite a few times this weekend. I'll definately be ordering the truespeed sometime soon.

big_jon00 05-05-2004, 04:29 PM If you don't mind me asking how much did you have to give per tire? I have found them on tire.com for 225 each I called in and got em down to 215 w/free shipping just wondering if I could do better they should be here next week.
Jon
big_jon00 05-05-2004, 04:31 PM Oh, I was also wondering what the back spacing is on those rims I have a set of 18's x 9.5 with 6inches of back spacing look like there going to fit pretty much like my h2 take offs.
Jon
Silverado Man 05-05-2004, 04:49 PM I gave $843 mounted balanced everything at Discount Tire.
Backspacing is 4.50"
