Saw an LB7 today pouring out smoke. It won't run over idle and if you push on the throttle it starts clacking and smoking even more. Any idea on what this could be?

Injectors, I've never experianced them but thats what it sounds like to me.

If it a heavy white smoke, then most likely injectors. Also check the dipstick and see if there is a diesel smell to the oil. Is it watery and overfull? Did this just happen overnight or has it been getting worse?

Oil isn't overfull and not a huge diesel smell. Just happened at once. He said at a stop light it just did it. Thanks guys

Did you loan the truck to anyone? Wife, In-law, freind? I would want to see it but a sudden onset with lots of white smoke like you describe could be gas in the fuel system. It happened to me when I loan out my compact tractor. Last thing he did was top it off with gas. Ran fine when I tok it off the trailer then quickly went to pot. I would check to be sure that someone did not put gas in the tank.

Lack of air or over fueling. Check to ensure a clear path to air intake. If the Turbo is not pushing air into the intake you will have a lack of power and heavy black smoke. Blocked air intake or loose blocked discharge from turbo.

Surprised it even started. Lucky it did not suck the rags into the turb and into the engine. Where did theyb come from?

he had stuck them in there to blow out the air filter housing. yeah he's real lucky it didn't do some damage.
