: Hold on LLY in Flint???
Ccolmar 04-23-2004, 05:19 PM Hello,
This is my first real post (except for PM to people), and I am waiting for my new truck. Its a GMC 2500HD SLT CC SB LLY/Allison.
It was built the week of March 29th, and it still hasn't arrived. My dealer checked into it today and found out from GM that there are over 1600 LLY trucks being held at the factory (including mine). GM wouldn't release any more information than that to the dealer. The dealer said GM will be releasing details on the hold next week. I so far have not had any reason to doubt my dealer (I've bought 3 other vehicles from them), so I believe their story so far.
Has anyone else heard about this, and why the trucks are being held? Sorry if its been posted before(I looked through old posts but couldn't find anything).
Thanks,
Craig
(Sorry, I had to edit it since I put April 29th instead of March 29th)Edited by: Ccolmar
Rippem 04-23-2004, 06:26 PM It's about a bad run of injectors I believe...
Cougar281 04-23-2004, 06:43 PM I hope they had it fixed for this week... My truck had a TPW of the 19th, shipped the 20th, and is in Jersey right now... Should be here Monday (I hope).
Master44Mag 04-23-2004, 10:37 PM That is what my truck was caught up in. Mine was built March 8th and I took delivery on April 15th. You are now experiencing the backlog of shipments. I wish you good luck.
tmm2good 04-24-2004, 01:46 AM My dealer just called me yesterday and informed me about the delay, He said it was a quality control issue. When I asked about the injectors, he said yea, that is what it is. My tpw is the first week of May, hopefully they get it going here and my truck is not delayed to much, but I want to make sure they get it right before they ship.
jdhankins 04-24-2004, 02:34 PM tmm2good,
My TPW is 5-3-04 also. You are a little closer to the factory than I am, but let's keep in touch and let each other know arrival date. Good Luck!
rvtrailerpuller 04-24-2004, 04:02 PM My TPW was April 5. I got a V.I.N. on April 6. "A little bird told me" that the truck, a Silverado Duramax Crew Cab short bed, was shipped on April 15. It appears that my truck arrived at its final rail destination on April 22. Now I have to wait for the final transfer to delivery by truck to my dealer for final inspection and installation of dealer installed options. I hope I'll be driving my new truck home before May 1. My truck must have made it through that injector inspection (I hope, I hope, I hope!)
Rippem 04-24-2004, 06:14 PM You guys with a 5-3-04 TPW...what was your order date? Thanks.
3500LLY 04-24-2004, 07:26 PM when did you order rvtrailerpuller?
My truck is currently on hold, anyone know more about this injector problem and how long it might take for them to get these turcks shipped?
Ccolmar 04-24-2004, 07:30 PM I just wanted to say thanks for all the replies to my post. I guess its a real deal with the hold, and I just have to wait it out. If I find out more info early next week like the Dealer told me, I'll update this for all of those waiting like me.
Good luck to all of you waiting for your truck!
Leatherman 04-24-2004, 09:13 PM I waited almost 11 weeks but it's worth every min.
4500/LLY 04-24-2004, 09:24 PM Heck,I waited 4 months for mine!!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif
rvtrailerpuller 04-24-2004, 09:24 PM 3500LLY,
I ordered on January 23 and was originally given a TPW of March 3 but had a delay due to a supplier problem. I think it was the sliding rear window I ordered. Then my TPW was moved to April 5. I have no direct knowledge of the injector problem putting many trucks on hold but I heard about it once on this forum and once in a phone conversation with a friend.
jdhankins 04-24-2004, 10:05 PM My order date was April 5th.
Newguy 04-25-2004, 12:21 AM so should I be worried about my LLY?? is the problem just related to the trucks that were produced or all LLY's??
http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
BlueCrew 04 D/A SB GMC 04-25-2004, 01:01 AM I' m guess'n its only a particular batch of lly's or we should have gotten a notice or recall. At least I hope; I bought my lly in Feb. and have just over 5k miles with almost no troubles( except for a seized clutch fan at just 800miles) Truck runs great, just LUVIN IT!!! Best truck I've ever owned. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif
tmm2good 04-25-2004, 03:15 AM jdhankins,
Will do. I will let you know any status as I get it. What did you order ? CC,EXCAB...etc.. I did send my info off to Howard so he could help track it. My order date was 3-27 (day I went to dealer to order) Suspect order did not leave dealer until 3-29 or 3-30..
Zoggan 04-25-2004, 10:26 AM My Order date was 3/30/04. TPW 5/03 Just talked to the dealer yesterday. To the best of his knowledge (Yeh I know!) the TPW has not changed. Still hoping to use it to pull my 5th wheel over the Memorial day weekend.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
patrick 04-25-2004, 08:27 PM this would be the reason why I got a bulliten of parts restriction on the lly injector only ordered by vin.Havent seen any injectors go down on the lly but like any diesel it will have its problems as well.
BigBlue04DMax 04-26-2004, 10:40 AM Any good news on this issue yet?
Frank_EP 04-26-2004, 02:02 PM If you look back a few days you will see my post is the first on this subject. My order went in in early Jan. 2004. CC 2wd with sliding rear window. TPW Mar. 29. Then the truck went into the "hold black hole" and has not been locatable for more than three weeks.
Due to the wonders of the internet, I was able to tell my dealer and the western states zone rep. where my truck was, even though they could not find it. I might get it in mid. May.
Five months is a long time to wait. I bought the camper in Feb., and that was delivered in March. The Reese Titan V, front hitch, Hellwig sway bar and Rancho shocks have been sitting in my garage for nearly 2 months.
leathal02 04-26-2004, 04:21 PM wow...ya'll are having problems or something...my dad ordered his probably in the beginning of march and got it the day after Easter..like a 5 week wait....
JUSTIFIED HD 04-26-2004, 05:03 PM I'm in the same boat, I ordered mine on 03/02 and it has been sitting in the rail yard about 20 miles from my dealer, for 2 1/2 weeks now. It was shipped without inner door handles because of a supplier problem that GM had. My salesman was going to get it today and have door handles pulled off another truck and installed on mine. NOPE "Quality Control" issue, GM won't let it leave the rail yard. I'm in the Twin Cities. Hope we all get good news soon.
rvtrailerpuller 04-26-2004, 05:46 PM I just got an email from my dealer saying my truck is in! Now all that has to happen is their inspection and installation of dealer installed options, namely the chrome assist steps.
I can hardly wait!
Just another day now!
maynard9089 04-27-2004, 05:54 PM a friends truck was built 3/31 and is still stuck in Flint as of this afternoon. He called GM and was told that 300 trucks are on hold. I am assuming this is the injector problem.
9W3-HD 04-28-2004, 02:13 PM Any word on when these trucks are going to get released?
BH in AZ 04-28-2004, 03:01 PM Frank_EP mentioned in his reply on 4/26 that "Due to the wonders of the internet, I was able to tell my dealer and the western states zone rep. where my truck was".
Could someone please provide information on how to determine a Chevy truck order status using the internet. I have not found any Chevy website with this option.
Also, what is a TPW date?
Thanks,
Bruce H.
JUSTIFIED HD 04-28-2004, 04:57 PM TPW is Target Production Week, as to the other questions I don't know. I just got home from my dealer and my salesman is supposed to get a call later this afternoon from one of the big wigs up in Michigan. He's gonna call me later, If I get any new info I'll post as soon as I hear about it.

Howard is kind enough to help us track our ordered trucks from the day of manufacture to the day of delivery via rail to their destination. All he needs is the S.O.N. (the Sales Order Number) and the TPW. Both the order number and TPW will have to be provided by your dealer. Please, just don't spill the beans to your dealer how you can get so much information of the railroad tracking information.
By the way -- I picked up my truck today!
Yup, I have that big grin you might expect. I stand accused by my wife and kids of looking like a "dork" with such a stupid smile. But I don't care.
I got my truck!
swake 04-29-2004, 12:08 AM I ordered my new truck on April 13... My dealer told me my TPW was 5/4 - 5/9. When talked to my dealer today, he told me it wouldn't be built until 5/27 now. Hopefully he is wrong. I would really like to have it before Memorial Day also.
2500HD CC, 4WD, short box, D/A on order
howard_m18 04-29-2004, 01:10 AM I be here to help in whatever way I can!! Thanks, rvtravler puller for the words! Just doing my job!! danhercules 04-29-2004, 01:11 PM New here to this site. (Thanks Howard http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
I ordered my truck on 3-18. Gone through a few build dates but ended up done on 4-7. Still waitin for it to be shipped. Mine on hold too.
My question. The 05's are gonna come out soon.....right? I was thinkin of takin to my dealer, (who has really pissed me off, with no phone calls as promised, they say its being shipped) and ordering a 05 instead. Sure I want my truck. I have waited pushin on 2 months. I dont mind waiting longer to get at 05.
Is this possibe? When are the 05's gonna be in production? Any new options on the 05's? I heard a possible sun roof?
Dmax Tim 04-29-2004, 01:17 PM U won't see the 05 til September or late August.
Sun roof and no more marine blue http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif, now a slightly darker color blue .
Howard, any help on my TPW?
TIM
Reggie1 04-29-2004, 01:48 PM I hope they had it fixed for this week... My truck had a TPW of the 19th, shipped the 20th, and is in Jersey right now... Should be here Monday (I hope).
Reggie1 04-29-2004, 01:50 PM Pardon my ignorance, but what is the definition of TPW.
Reggie
sycloneGuy 04-29-2004, 02:23 PM Reggie,
TPW = Target Production Week
Dave
Ccolmar 04-29-2004, 03:40 PM I just spoke with the dealer. My truck has been released and is on its way. But......he added that GM said there is a lack of rail cars right now, so it may delay the arrival by a few days. So...maybe I'll have it by week number 11 or 12 from the order date.
Some day I guess......
ROBZUK 04-29-2004, 06:30 PM I ordered my LLY on March 1 and picked her up on April 12, a week late for my birthday !!
ROB
Reggie1 04-29-2004, 07:22 PM Thanks Dave, for the info.
If the TPD is May 17th, and providing everything goes well, does that mean that the vehicle will be completed within that week. Also, what is the S.O.N., as referenced by Howard.

DGFoster 04-30-2004, 12:31 AM I live right by the plant and yes they are waiting on rail cars, trucks are on the wait line for loading. They are working on the tracks so that might be an issue.
the longer you wait the better it feels when you get it.

DMAX/Hemi 04-30-2004, 08:58 AM Wellman,
You can make changes at this point, but it will likely push back your TPW. Still waiting to hear something on mine, TPW was 4/26. The wait starting to get pretty difficult...
skibum 04-30-2004, 10:48 AM Ordered mine 3/9 and heard from "a little bird" this week that it has been produced and is waiting on a rail car.
Not too bad, 7 weeks from order date.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Reggie1 05-03-2004, 12:25 AM danhercules, I'm happy that you received your truck. It appears that you got your order in 6 weeks. My dealer said that 6 to 8 weeks was normal, but more than not they usually arrive sooner. If I get mine in the same lenght of time as you did I will be real happy.

Howard if you had anything to do with getting it on the rail car so quick, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!
Reggie1 05-05-2004, 10:20 PM jdhankins, congrats!! My TPW is 5/17/04. Does that mean the truck will be started or completed on that date? It appears that your TPW was your completion date. Is that correct?
Thanks,

tmm2good 05-06-2004, 01:29 AM jdhankins, congrats. I just left my dealer a message to check on the status of mine.
Reggie1, the tpw means that is the targeted production week, it can be built any time during that week.
Dmax Tim 05-06-2004, 07:20 AM Well hopefully the ones they are building now have whatever problem fixed on the line and go straight to the rail or truck line.
My GMC is being built next week so hopefully i can get it and all the stuff switched over for a camping trip later this month and TIM the first part of June.

Is there any info on this? Is it true? I just got my Chevy last week (TPW 4/19/04, shipped 4/20/04), and have just under 700 miles on it, and I can hear what sounds like a torque converter or front pump whine that wasn't there when I got the truck...

I got the info from 2 different sourses about the front pump, both reliable, last night when I dropped my last load,I see them bringing trucks back into the plant.Rail cars came in last night and a lot of the trucks that were sitting on the lot have been loaded.
Not sure if any got out with the bad pump.I will try and find out..

Frank_EP 05-07-2004, 05:12 PM This whole delay is really getting on my nerves. It is just a few days short of five months and my truck is STILL held in Flint. Does anybody know the current number of trucks and the rate at which the troubled ones are being cleared?
My current guess is a clearance rate of 30 troubled trucks per day, and a backlog that peaked at 8000. GM is exceptionally tight lipped on this one, but I need to know if it will be another five months before I can get the truck I ordered.
se7enracing 05-07-2004, 08:00 PM I'm with you Frank_EP. I haven't waited as long but I too have been waiting for almost 3 months now... I know it takes some time to build em but... Howard said something about mine being shipped to Rousch for repairs on the sealers or something... When we contacted GM, they stated NOPE we shipped that truck out... hmm.. Then I emailed Howard back and haven't heard from him if GM is pulling my leg or if they were right... So, while I have no #'s for you, you can add my Chev LT CCSB D/A to the list.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
Reggie1 05-07-2004, 09:30 PM Frank_EP, there is something seriously wrong with this picture. 5 months is rediculous. You have more patience than I do. It seems to me that it would be incumbent upon the dealer to find out what is going on. If you look back through the post you will find that jdhankins, for example is getting his truck in about 6 weeks, and the same applies to others as well. 5 months, is unbelievable. Your truck probably went to Mexico. Good luck.
Reggie

DGFoster 05-07-2004, 09:57 PM I was told today, there is trucks sitting here from December, but I could not get a reason why,and also some trucks that were ordered with the Allison have been switched to the ZF 6 speed,I think he said the ZF anyway it is the six speed he is talking about. But I heard two other things also, this I am not sure about,I was told that some private military firm over in Iraq has ordered some UN type trucks,I heard 600 trucks was being built bound for Iraq and Afganistan, this maybe why you guys are not getting answers, dont quote me on that, but this is what I heard, also a lot of trucks went out on rail yesterday.
Ccolmar 05-07-2004, 11:16 PM I'm the one that started this thread, and I wanted to give an update. On Wednesday my dealer and I agreed that they would refund my deposit and I would move on after waiting 11.5weeks and hearing nothing. On Thursday they called me and said they have confirmation that my truck was on a train and should be here next Tuesday or Wednesday. They also knocked $300 off the price for my troubles and for hanging in there without getting angry towards them. I thought that was nice since this comes directly out of their pocket, not GMs. I think it helps I tend to buy a new vehicle from them for my wife or me about every 20 months(since 2000). Today at work I got a call from GM telling me my truck has been shipped and that I can expect it early next week. I was surprised by that call. I think it might be related to a nice little email I sent to them last week. GM said they still could not disclose what the delay was, and that he was sorry for that. He said he will call again Tuesday to talk about the truck, and to make sure I'm happy about the situation. I also heard from "a little birdie" today in an email that it would be in the area on Monday. Thanks "Little Birdie"!!!!!!!
JUSTIFIED HD 05-08-2004, 12:05 AM My truck is still sitting in the rail yard 20 miles away in Cottage Grove. It's been there for 3 1/2 weeks. Dealer has no idea when it's gonna be released. This is really frustrating, the trucks made it this far and now it just sits. This is B.S. I work at a dealer and when the stuff happens I fix them as soon as they get off the transport, so they can be sold or leased to whom ever. So bottom line is I'm wondering when GM will get to mine.

GM is exceptionally tight lipped on this one, but I need to know if it will be another five months before I can get the truck I ordered. If I waited 5 months for a truck to be built, I would be ringing the phones off the hooks, I think I would be talking to the dealer and GM to sweeten the deal with some freebies, like maybe some free oil changes or maybe even a nice discount on a extended warranty, it wouldn't hurt to ask Frank.
coach 05-10-2004, 07:19 AM HMMMM??? Iordered mine on Feb 14th and took delivery on April 1st! It was at the dealer on March22.Have over 1200 miles and not a trouble one! Nice feature is now the big nozzle fits at the truck stop!
skibum 05-10-2004, 11:30 AM Seems to me that the current orders are going through in about 8 weeks tops. Frank_EP should have ordered another truck and wrote the first one off. Then the dealer could have stocked that one on the lot if it ever showed up.
"A little bird told me" that the transporter my truck is on should arrive at its final destination Tuesday morning.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Frank_EP 05-10-2004, 02:23 PM The situation certainly is strange and annoying. GM will not say a thing. Even the people on the ground in Flint will not say a thing. The guys I know that work there will not say a thing. My wife's mother's cousin's husband is the super zone rep for the whole eastern half of the US and he will not say a thing. Not to mention my dealer or zone rep. both being silent.
Why so much silence? Although it could just be a series of bad, stupid, or lazy moves on the part of GM, it could be something else. Perhaps there is a lawsuit brewing?
OTOH, and I hope this is the case, perhaps some production is being diverted for Iraq. The current up-armored Hummers have a 0 to 60 time of about 80 seconds when loaded for combat. A D/A refit would solve most of that. Deployed as a group in a short time period would be a good military tactic.
1HillBilly 05-10-2004, 04:44 PM I ordered my D/A CC on March 19th and was to be built the week of 4/11/04 and to arive on 4/20/04. Still not here and the dealership told me that it was being held at Flint for quality control. So last week i emailed GM and got a call on Sunday. I told them all i knew and they said they would call back today.....well they did. The customer rep. (still have name,#, and extension) told me that yes they was on hold and that it was due to a problem with the Allison but would not tell me what the problem was. Also that they could not tell me when it would be shiped. So i guess ill just wait. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
DGFoster 05-10-2004, 04:53 PM 2 truck loades of pump assemblies came in today,so maybe it wont be much longer.
se7enracing 05-10-2004, 07:49 PM 1HillBilly,
Can you PM me that phone number, Ext and name of that customer service rep from GM? I would really like to talk to someone at GM to find out the truth about where mine is at. If it is in Flint, fine. I just want to know where it is... None of this, well it was shipped when I don't think it was...
Thanks, se7en
DMAX/Hemi 05-11-2004, 07:17 AM I ordered mine on 3/23, the TPW was set for 4/26, and I picked it up last night. The only glitch was it was originally supposed to ship out on 4/30, but went by truck on 5/6. Can't wait to put some miles on it.
Reggie1 05-11-2004, 10:41 AM 99 31U VERT, in what part of the country are you located?

edgey dmax 05-11-2004, 01:32 PM Skibum I think that little birdie flew by my house and told me that my truck is built and is on a railcar.
skibum 05-11-2004, 02:11 PM That little birdie sure gets around.
se7enracing 05-11-2004, 04:14 PM Just got off the phone with GM Customer Support (Thanks 1Hillbilly). It seems I now have a 3rd story as to the whereabouts for MY LLY. He said that it was held for over a month supposed to ship April 7th but was held due to QC reasons until May 8th. On May 8th, they shipped it to my Fleet dealership (WRONG side of the country). They were supposed to ship it directly to a local Chev dealer by me to "inspect" the vehicle and deliver. The GM rep said, no, they won't do that and it was shipped to the Fleet company... SO, moral of the story, held up due to the QC issue for over a month BUT supposedly shipped now. Wonder how long it will take to ship from the Fleet company in Illinois to Seattle? Can you say, another 10days after they get it? Hmmm. I think I may just settle for the truck on the Chev or GMC dealer next time... 30 days hold up for QC. We'll see if it was really shipped or not. At this point, I am not holding my breathe!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif

3500LLY 05-12-2004, 03:36 PM se7enracing or 1hillbilly can one of you guys pm me that phone number, my truck was built over a month ago and still hasnt been shipped
thanks
Frank_EP 05-12-2004, 06:10 PM Yesterday I go a call from my dealer. He says my truck has been released for shipping. But there is no ship date, no rail car number and no shipping termination date (arrival at the rail yard here in SoCal).
So pretty much I am in the same position as I have been for a month or two. But he say he expects it "released to me" on or about the 20th of May.
tmm2good 05-13-2004, 02:38 AM Just got a call from the dealer today, he has a vin and expects it to be here next week. He woke me up when he called, so I did not ask if it was built last week when it was supposed to be or not. WOOHOOO http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif...
coach 05-13-2004, 06:46 AM I assume you guys realize that it has to do with something to do with the "crew cab". Not the engine or other componets there. Because in our trucks Flint only makes them if i am not mistaken(its early in the a.m.)! So it must be a Quaility control problem!
Frank_EP 05-13-2004, 03:15 PM Another update. I have a rail car number.
What was that URL that can be used for tracking rail car progress? The search engine at this site does not pick it up.
ttrew 05-13-2004, 04:03 PM FYI, placed an order for a Crew Cab LLY on March 28, TPW was 5-3, truck arrived at the dealership yesterday afternoon. Not bad, a little over a week transit time to Maryland. Saw the truck today, looks great. They are prepping it and I will write the check tomorrow morning.

I don't recall seeing that URL on the forum...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
I got it from the local "little birdie" in an e-mail, sorry but I don't remember what it was. Try getting a hold of Howard...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

tmm2good 05-13-2004, 08:08 PM Frank EP
I tried to find the url, but I could not. I know I have seen it here. It is on the uprr.com (union Pacific)site somewhere
rvtrailerpuller 05-14-2004, 02:30 AM tmm2good,
If you have your rail car number, and the railroad is Union Pacific, go to http://www.up.com . From there, go to the top of page & find the word CUSTOMERS, click there & then under UPRR Applications, find MOTOR VEHICLE TRACE on the R/H side. Click there & type in your Equipment # = R/R/CAR #.
Or, the direct url to this search page is:
http://c01.my.uprr.com/pet/

howard_m18 05-15-2004, 01:20 AM HI FRANK_EP & YOU GOT A "BABY ANNOUNCEMENT" !! Check your e-mail!! Howard http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif
se7enracing 05-19-2004, 01:21 PM Just got a baby announcement and a little birdy just confirmed my 3 other ship dates that were commited to us by GM were wrong... Thanks LITTLE BIRDY! Now I have a rail car # and a date when my new LLY was really shipped! NO more GM excuses!!! Now lets hope they fixed whatever it was that held it up!!
Thanks again little birdy! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif You keep us "daddies" sane, when we are promised so many delivery dates we start to wonder IF we are ever going to be "proud parents" to a 50k truck....

Frank_EP 05-26-2004, 01:38 PM One more down. My truck was delivered to me last night.
In addition to all the other delays, it was damaged in transport!
White D/A CC/LB; 22 miles on the odometer.
skibum 05-26-2004, 02:34 PM I feel for you Frank. Mine had repair done to the right front fender upon delivery. Everything points to the repair being done before it left the factory. I have contacted GM Customer Care about it and will let you know the outcome.
John
edgey dmax 05-27-2004, 04:32 PM Dealer just called and my truck is in hope to pick it up tonight!!!!!!!!!!!
9W3-HD 05-31-2004, 12:00 AM I was just told my truck was finally put on a railcar, but evidentally the railcar was bad ordered, meaning something was needing fixed on the car before it could continue. Damned my luck!
4x4hunter1 05-31-2004, 10:51 AM Some of the holds on the LLY might be to problems such as I've just experienced.
See my previous post. Worse is that is that there are no parts for the LLY in the U.S. They come out of Woodstock, Canada and GM is experiencing custom delays at the border (all told me by GM)
Worst is that service managers have not received any bulletins advising of new parts in the LLY. For starters the injectors, valve train assembly including the keepers are different. That, coupled with no parts in the U.S., will have me down for 9 days come Wednesday.
We make a living hauling yachts, had to cancel out loads and missed appointments. I'm thankful we were deadheading for our next pickup an dwere empty at the time as the tow truck c/n have handled the duallie with it's transporter plus a large yacht. Not a matter of weight but loading logistics.
Regards,
4x4hunter
4x4hunter1 06-01-2004, 10:08 AM Ordered my 2004 just before Thanksgiving 2003. It finally arrived mid January, 2004. Blame being put on factories closing for the holidays and new EPA having to be met for the LLY.
Been real happy with it until the LLY croaked in N. Calif. last week and we're waiting for parts out of Canada, which will keep me down for over a week, so far.
Fixing to battle GM over this, thanks to all who've supplied me with "ammo" in this forum, expecially learning about hold on shipping out from Flint with the huge backlog, due to my type of problems.

se7enracing 06-02-2004, 02:30 PM Just got the notification that I can pickup my LLY today at 2:30pm! Yee Ha! I went do the delivery dealer last night (thanks little birdie) and was able to give it a good once over (without any sales harrassment)...
Hope it is all it is cracked up to be and worth the wait! I am sure it is... Nice sunny day today as well....Things are looking up!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif
Going to pick it up and head straight to the wheel and tire shop! Going to do some fitment tests with offset & backspacing on 20 & 22 inch wheels... Want to be sure the truck comes out looking how I want it to...
BASSER 06-07-2004, 11:07 PM I waited 17 weeks for my 04 2500 cc da lly. when it rolled off
the truch it had a paper on the windshield that said " hold for LLY injectors." Now have about 350 miles on it and it feels much stronger
than my 03 3500 LB7.
ctgmcduramax 06-11-2004, 01:18 AM Guys who ordered 2001 or 2002 Dmax would have been happy getting their trucks in 4 months. Many took Much Longer.
My 2002 took 3 weeks to locate and dealer swap (i did not order)
My 88 EXT Cab w 6.2 diesel GMC took over one year to be delivered after ordered. It was the truck I wanted , was worth every day of the wait. (500,000 miles latter !!)
3500LLY 06-12-2004, 01:20 AM I got my truck this week, ordered it the week of march 1st and the dealer told me it would be there in 6-8 weeks...well 14 weeks later i finally got it, well worth the wait but kinda annoying that it took twice as long as what it should of. howard told me it was on hold for that bad batch of injectors that ran through. truck sat in flint for at least 6 weeks before it was released.
