Yes! its a perfect fit, put my down pipe on my dads 05, make sure you lift the front of the truck a little cuz the cat has to come out the front and turned down.

Yup! On the '05 there's no problem. You'll love the result. If you don't mind spending another $60 or so... go to a exhaust shop and have the muffler replaced with a straight pipe. Fantastic! And getting rid of just the muffler won't void your warranty; just put your cat back in for service. Do it!!!

would it be worth it for the MBRP front pipe or the stock one is more then enough...

You asked if an LB7 fits on an LLY right? If so no. If you were asking if an LBZ and LLY were interchangable then yes.

The connection between the cat/front pipe and muffler/tailpipe on the '06, both LLY and LBZ, is different and does not have the 4-bolt flange. Instead it uses a pinned sleeve clamp.

The COMPLETE system can be swapped out, but the '06 cat pipe will not mate with an '05 muffler pipe.
The turbo downpipe is the same on all LLY/LBZ.

Just did that exact same thing last week with stock LB7 front pipe and it bolts right up!

Totally NOT true. I took a 02 LB7 front pipe and bolted it right up to my 05 LLY. Easy peasy. Took out the muffler too and man it sounds awesome.

well if i can get a pipe for $60 shipped i am going to do the LB7 if not i am goign to get the MBRP one

i just got my pipe. bolted right in. that cat is huge and a real pain to get out
