I will say that since EIF live came out it will be hard for a company to break into the market. A company has to have alot of time and $$$ involved in developing a product. Now since there isnt anything for the LBZ and that platform.....if they beat EFI live and everyone else to market on that they would get the corner on it probably.

EFI live and SCT are tools not tunes.

While the SCT platform is quite popular for the 6.0 Ford trucks, I don't quite believe it is the only solution for them. Just like there are many different options for the LB7 when it comes to tuners, there are many options for the 6.0. Of course, some work better than others. As far as positive feedback goes, SCT probably has the best that I have seen when it comes to the 6.0 but you will also read positive feedback about Edge and a few others.
Now, as far as the Duramax is concerned..........
Unless SCT develops a way to "talk" to the Allison computer, I don't think they will become a big player in the allison market. The key for Ford performance is getting a transmission tune in along with their engine performance tune. Until EFI live came along, that wasn't possible for the GM camp.

I just reread my post.....dint make a darn bit of sense really or help answer your question:o:

EFI isnt out for the LBZ nor is SCT. The LBZ has a totaly new computer so it will take a deccent amount of work to get anything for it. That said if anyone comes out with anything for it the first person to get thier product to market will likely get a big corner on it and it will be hard for anyone else to break in. EFI live has now said they may do something with the LBZ's, who knows when or if that will happen but I guess thats better than a "we arnt going to waste our time ever"

I see that EFI live is out for the LB7 and LLY duramax that the likely hood of another company(like SCT) putting much more time or $$$ into developing a product as much less likely. Think how hard it would be for EFI live to break into fords.....they would have to offer something to get ford people to jump ship on sct.

Like I said about em being tools.....sct and efi live realy dont do crap for your truck. Its how you use the tool that makes the power ;)(or if you buy a tune someone else wrote that used sct or EFI live)

If your curious about SCT in particualar the best people to ask about what thier time line(if they plan to work on it at all) would be sct themselves.

i know all about them being tools. i ran 10 different tunes on my 6.0. all tuned by someone else because the tuning software is somewhere around 6k. efi live would be sweet. i really hope they release something for lbz's. i also understand about the not being able to break into a market, but like you said, there isn't a market for lbz's yet so we'll have to wait and see.

Looks like SCT has just released their Advantage III tuning software and the Excalibrator 2 programmer/scantool for the GM gassers. How much longer for the Duramax stuff?

SCT sells personal tuning software named Pro Racer package for $795

Shesh I have the SCT Pro-Racer package for my 03 Cobra and it was under 700 bucks if I recall. I can change everything.

6 Grand? Maybe for the dealer version so you can tune multiple vehicles?
