Sorry to beat on an old subject, but... I did the post CAT fuel filter install on the engine two weeks ago and ended up with the dreaded air issue. I had to bleed the air out to start it first thing in the morning and to start it to leave work in the afternoon. I was getting ready to remove the whole setup when I came across Greg Landuyt's post suggesting to place a 1 inch "O" ring on the threaded center post on the filter head. Seems the problem has been cured! No more air!
For less than a buck the "O" ring solved my problem!
Thanks to Greg for the suggestion and Kev Tech for a nice setup!
For those interested the size is 1 1/4" x 1" x 1/8" .

It's what fixed my problem. Suprising that the CAT filter does not have a post seal. I see the Baldwin equivalent filter has that integral post seal listed as a feature. I used an old OEM filter post seal that was shaved to fit, but o-ring will work fine.

Hope you had fun with your install. Glad your running good.
