After drooling about it, and talking to those who actually own one, I made the conversion from gasser to diesel: a 2006 2500HD Silverado with the D/A!

I've been told that pulling my 6500# travel trailer will be non-comparible to my former '99 5.3 gasser. Can't wait for the break period to pass so I can pull!!

I am in information overload with all that this forum has to offer. It is great that a newbie like me can refer to info from those who have had many experiences with their diesel.

6500lb won't break a sweat. You can get a speeding ticket going up the steepest grades around.

My flatbed weighs almost that empty and the truck hardly notices it. You can tell when my backhoe is on the trailer but the truck doesn't struggle, it just doesn't perform like a hot rod at 28,800 gross.
