After 75,000 miles on my 04 HD I had the pitman arm and idler replaced yesterday. Since then I'm experiencing the worst road behavior ever...bounces all over the places and heaves back and forth, left to right. I've got new Bilstein shocks on order, about to be installed, but can anyone offer any suggestions? Will the shocks "fix" what I'm describing? Thanks!

was it doing it before the pitman/idler install?

Did they do an alignment on it afterward? How are your wheel bearings? How about the tire tread?
There are a lot of factors that could lead to the behavior you are describing but I do not think replacing the shocks will solve your problem.

They rotated / aligned tires at the same time. Tires are nearly new with good tread. The truck handled beautifully before having this work done. After leaving the shop, I drove a short while before turning around to head back to the shop to complain. They put it back on the hoist and re checked their previous work and say nothing is wrong. Now it handles like a big tub of jello.... Suggestions, please???

Something sounds wrong. If anything the handling should have improved with the new parts. How well do you trust that shop? Maybe try another shop to to make sure. Sorry not much help. Only other thing I can think of is if they took off or damaged your steering stablizer in the process but that's a long shot.
