I'm glad that my new truck has a great ride and a very smooth powerplant. Just drove it off the lot tonight.
I can't say that I'm all that impressed with my dealer in the South Bay. They aren't very Courteous. Exactly two months ago the salesman told me they were a large dealer and could trade for the dark grey metallic D/A I wanted which was supposedly at another dealer. Three days later when I was expecting to take delivery, I called the dealer to confirm I could come down and pick up my new truck. They told me that the other dealer backed out and refused to give up the truck. Then he tells me I can just keep my trade-in and we'll just forget about the whole thing. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Broken Heart.gif
After playing the Lets Make A Deal game three days earlier for six hours, I was not about to walk away, especially after signing all the paperwork. After mentioning that I spoke with legal counsel about this sales contract, they ended up ordering the truck at the price negotiated.
Before I took delivery of this new truck, I did a walk around and started the motor (just to make sure it was a diesel). I noticed that the dealer somehow "forgot" to order/install the bed rail protectors and the spare tire lock. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif These two items are now on order and I went in to take care of the paperwork.
I came back out and was about to drive off when the sales guys asked me, "Is there anything else you have a concern about?" The hairs stood up on the back of my neck. I was thinking, "Is there something else they screwed up that I'm missing?"
The only thing I could think about was to ask if they checked the rear diff fluid since I learned on this site of the low fluid issue. The sales guy told me that was part of the prep but they could check it again when I bring the truck back to have the bed rail caps put on. Why would they have to "re-check" something they already checked?
Now I'm wondering if they left anything else out. How many skid plates should be on the skid plate package?
