http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Question.gif Have a little piston rattle in my 04 8.1. I know GM has had a problem with the 6.0s and 8.1s and a few folks have had big problems with it. Mine is very, very slight at this time. Have an appointment with the Stealer to replace a leaking rear pinion seal so I am going to have them check it out in case it gets worse.


I am told GM has several bulletins and/or TSB out on this issue. How can I get copies? Any real big or long term issues with this problem? Built several big street engines with lots of piston clearance intentionally built in, but a factory fresh, daily driver intended to be driven 150,000 miles or so should not have any audiable piston rattle. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif
