tires. It's my understanding that my new [ not yet delivered ] GMC 3500 duallie 2WD truck will come with LT215/85R 16D tires [ General ameri-trac ]. I see that most trucks towing 5ers are using the E load range tires, will those of you that are towing with D load range tires please rate these tires and tell me if they are adequate for the job. Thanks.

My 98 k3500 Crewcab Dually came with the Generals. Overall I was not impressed. They were noisy and the ride was rough. I eventually switched to Michelins and it was a night and day improvement - very smooth, quiet ride. I also changed out the OEM Firestones that came with my 03 2500HD for Michelins at 10 kmiles - same results.

My 04 GMC CC Dually came in with Generals on it and I had the dealer put Michelins on it before I pulled it off the lot, also had Generals on my 35 ft. Big Sky fifth wheel, put Michelins on it too. The General tire dealer said that the tires on my trailer (General Grabbers) were good for a truck that did inner city driving and not for highway use.
My 04 dually came with General Amerijunks also. I put on 1200 miles and bought Michelins at my expense. The dealer insisted there was nothing wrong with the Generals & wouldn't help me at all. I have three vehicles with Michelins and have no complaints.
