Let me introduce myself. I am Dave and have worked with diesels for 8 years in the Navy; I work on Detroit 6-71's and Cummins 6BTA5.9M1's; So I am not newbie when it comes to the diesel side of the house. I have never owned one myself, but am hoping to change that soon.
Found an '02 Silverrado 2500HD Duramax, Auto, Fully Loaded(Leather, cruise, you name it) 4WD(Push Button) Crew Cab. I am asking the same question as all the other guys considering a purchase....... Is it worth it?
The only thing that is concerning me is 126,000 miles on it. I went and looked at it, and it is in, IMHO, in really good shape. Crawled underneath it, no visible damage, not filthy, it doesn't look it's done a whole lot of towing. The carfax said it's had transmission service, electrical service, and engine service. No accidents, etc.
Asking price is $21,900; I can not get him to budge cause KBB is listing it as 26000 and some change.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Now for a little insight into the other side of me. The whole reason I want this truck is to be able to tow my race car, which I will be racing at a local short track(as soon as I get it finished:( )

Before you buy, scroll down the homepage of this website, look for the "VIN Check" link, and request a VIN check. It will give you a better vehicle history than CarFax.

Thanks, I am going to do that. I have always wanted to own a diesel truck, even looked at a 06 Silverado, but when I couldn't get them below 47,000 I had to look elsewhere.
I have always been a mechanical type; been working on cars since i was old enough to see over the hood. I am currently doing a frame- off restoration on a 1969 Camaro Coupe. It's completely diassembled and waiting body work. Yet another reason that I need a bigger truck. My 6 Cyl Silverado does not like me after I tow it around.
I am going to submit the VIN, I have it in my wallet.
Any Camaros.net folks should recognize me. As soon as I buy this(If I buy) truck, I will submit some photos.

I bought my dmax last june for 30,443 and it only had 29,000 miles on it I think you could find a way better deal than 21 for that. I bought my truck in fox lake illinois with it loaded except no leather the dealers name is ray chevy look up the number and ask for tracy tell him john with the hayabusa sent you hell locate a perfect truck for your money or email a number to me at john40661@comcast.net and ill find ya something I'm not a dealer just hate to see someone get they're money took...
