The plan is to use this bag in the 2500HD jounce location. Use the bag to lift the truck into the leafsprings "softer" ride height. I think 2 inches would be a starting point, and would put this bag at the 8" design height.


With this settup, you can inflate to soften the ride, and deflate to stiffen the ride (empty). Very adjustable.


Assumptions:


1. empty bed/body weight supported by leafsprings=1800 lbs


2. leafspring spring rate of 200 lb/in at zero delection


3. leafspring spring rate of 400 lb/in at empty stock deflection


4. leafspring spring rate of 1200 lb/in with loaded full contact with overloads.


No plans to modify the springs or overloads at all, but may need to relocate jounce, or use polyurethane bushings on the overloads to reduce chances of bottoming out the bag when loaded.


Anybody have a good idea what the vertical leafspring deflection is in the empty stock configuration?Edited by: masterp2
