With the rise in gas prices coinsiding with the rise in home biodiesel production, I think it would be fesible to create an unofficial CO-OP of home brewers. This unofficial group's goal would be to allow those that have excess production from their brewing to sell to those of us who :can't brew due to residence restrictions, wife/husband restrictions, and lastly cost restrictions. But those that cant, want to run biodiesel but can not buy it from a retailer. If you have excess production and wouldn't mind helping the fellow drivers here on DP, post here with your city, and approxomently how much a week you have extra. This could help those making trips and want to use bio, but are in a different state and biodiesel's availablty is low. This can be a way of paying off your initial investment in the brewing setup while helping out with the environment ( I know a BS statement). If you have 5 or 10 gallons a week extra, that sounds to me like a pretty good B50 or B20 mix in a tank. With the future roll out of the ULSD, any bio would help with the lubercating of the engine.
I have selfish reasons for wanting a CO-OP, I am under the residence restriction column, yet want to run biodiesel mainly to keep the terrorists from getting my money. I'd much rather give it to a person making the effort and made the initial investment, to be my local refiner.
If some of the bio producers want to chime in with their production levels and costs, we can maybe set up a price structure that is fair to the buyer and sellers.
For this thread, please limit it to producers only. If you see a producer in your area, contact them through PMs, that way people wont have to read through pages of "I want to buy some in South Florida". I hope this takes off, because I see BioDiesel as the best alternative to high oil prices.
Thanks everyone up front.
