Does anyone have a Monroe pickup bed for sale? Does anyone know where I can find a used or new one? Any info would help.

I doubt if you will find any used ones. Call MTE at 888-878-8777. I don't know what a new one goes for today, but it isn't cheap. Good luck.

Big $$$. How about a hauler style bed, much more useful if towing a 5er. Plus less $$$.

I may be willing to sell mine or trade for hauler bed if the price is right.

not that it matters to me but what is different it looks just like a 3500 dually bed

This is a stock dually bed, notice how the body lines are different, the Kodiak has completely different body lines. The Monroe bed is said to be 8'5" long, making it five inches longer than a normal long bed. However I have not seen a Monroe bed in person to measure one. If you look at these pictures you can see where they added onto the cab to match the body lines, and I'm guessing, gain the 5 inches. Who can measure this? Can anyone take some pictures of how a Monroe bed mounts to the frame?

My monroe bed is completely different then my 3500 bed was. They use the steel inner box from a stock 8' bed, and bolt their custom sides to it. The extra 5" is on the front of the bed. That is how my smoke stacks come up between the bed and the cab, but they are in front of the bed box. Pretty cool idea. This way, my auxillary fuel tank doesn't absorb the heat from the stacks all day. It works well. As for how it is mounted to the frame, Monroe builds a HUGE, heavy custom sub-frame for the bed to sit on. The same frame is what the GN hitch is built into. Good luck trying to put one of these things together on your own. Looks like a lot of work to me.

I know this sounds crazy, but I might have found a loop hole for Monroe. MTE will not sell me the bed sides, but they will sell them to a GM dealer. The problem (and this is where I need your help) is the VIN number has to match a VIN fro MTE. Again I know its a chance, but will anyone let me use there VIN to order replacement bedsides. If there is someone out there that will let me use their Kodiaks VIN, be sure it came with the Monroe Truck pickup bed from the factoy. Thanks to everyone with the help so far.

Well I might have the bed sides coming, but I repeat might. Ockgator the bed is the same one that Gasuout has, so I think its a dually. Plus I bought a used bed in Yuma AZ, and it looks just like that. Its a dually for sure. Swicher is there any way you could get me some pics of how the bed mounts to the frame? Or even pics of the gap between the cab and the bed. I want to cut the cab for my speaker box, and five inches would be perfect.

BED needs to be 5 1/2 inches off frame. I used c channel I had made so same width as frame.I fit 2 frame rails each end to bed,set bed on and centered over wheels.marked and drilled end rails.back off with bed to drill.measure between end rails.add 2 rails between end rails.decide how you want to mount.common sense, easy. If your trucks same as mine
your gonna cut 13''s off back of frame on truck, that way bumper can go on.then you take second bed cut 2ft off frnt , box in and mount in gap
If you need more info PM me Ill give my # well talk on phone. To hard to explain here henpeckin, easier on phone. John

Thanks again for the pics. Yes it is the factory arm. We built new linkage w/heim joints, make sure you get the American made heims:ro) they're worth the money! I'm running the stock rear sway bar w/ extended links, no front sway bar. And no wandering whatsoever! There was a little bumpsteer, then we added the stabilizers, all better! The truck rides better than stock, but most any vehicle rides better than an unloaded 4500):h !!
