I got a buddy that limped his tranny in his 03 on his insane setting on his chip. Not sure what kind of chip but I think it was made in Colorado maybe. Anyways he was going to try some lucas tranny addative to see if it helps. Has anyone tried this stuff with any results. Had another buddy use it in his 99 PSD and the tranny lived for a long time after overheating it(275 degrees) and burning the clutches. He flushed it then poured in a quart with new fluid and it worked for 5 months until he traded it in. Just wonder if it works in the ally.

It works GREAT! That additive will allow an un-modded transmission to hold ROCK STEADY at any power level.

Hey, I've got this helix air intake thing that swirls the air for more power and better mileage. It works... Really!
I'll let you have an extra one I have for cheap - only $500 (suggested retail $749.99).

Funny, I guess this site has smarta$$ people that reply when you ask a simple question about a product. Maybe if I asked about Smart Blend that you sell I would get a mature reply.

I do not sell any addative for the Allison. You started your post by saying your buddy limped at some insane hp level. Now you want to know if this bottle of stuff will allow him to do it again with better resuls. Then you tell us about a miracle on an overheated Ford trans. Seems you allready have seen great results. Give it a try and crank up the power. I have not seen results like that and no one here has posted results like that. Yet.

The chip was custom and the highest setting was called insane file which I belive is above 150. The miracle on the ford...let me explain better. He did the flush added the lucas and took the ts chip off and then drove it normally until the trade. Hopefully that clarifies things better.

Had a decent experience w/ the Lucas trans additive. NOT ON AN ALLY though. Had an old Blazer w/ a TH350 that slipped like mad. Put 2 qts of Lucas in it and it plowed my driveway all winter w/o slipping, and to the best of my knowledge got it's new owner all the way home after I sold it to him.
Don't think I'd try it in something new/expensive though unless I knew the trans was toast already.

I just flushed my allison and put 1 1/2 bottles of it in my 80,000 mile tranny, which has a bully dog shift kit. The trans shifts better than new now. My wife had a Oldsmobile with 200,000 miles with NO work on it at all and the tranny was shot so I put in 2 bottles and drove it to work for 6 more months until we traded it in, that stuff is great. Love all Lucas products.

Poured in a bottle and then drained all the fluid. Drove it that way for over 100k.

Sorry, I had to.

No it will not help, if he limped it the best thing to do is back the power off, the more you limp it the easier it will become. The only way to run that kind of power is to build the trans. Band-aids dont work on the ally.

will it do what you are asking? doubt it

I tried it in my Ford tranny that I cooked, litterally! I boiled the fluid out the breather. (no temp guage hauling 25,000 lbs, made it down the highway fine, cooked it backing trailer in mud) I love their fuel additive and oil additive so I gave their tranny add a try. No such luck.

If it is a minor problem it will most likely help, if major only fix is $$$$$$

When you get a smarta$$ reply from this crowd in means baaaaaaa and if you ready Mike's avitar then you would already know that it means no.

steveford, i had a 86 3/4 ton ford with a c6 tranny that was in horrible shape. i even found a broken snap ring in the pan when i changed the internal filter one time. i added two bottles of lucas and it got me another 60,000 miles before i sold it to buy my duramax. i say its good stuff, but i dont see it as anything more than a band aid for larger problems. jmho.

This Lucas stuff is getting better by every post.):h I do not doubt it might be good stuff but have not tried it. One of my cutomers brought me 5 gallons of Lucas atf. I found it so thick I chose not to use it. I put it in a guys Ford psd to get him to a dealer for trade in on a Duramax.:D Never heard from him again.

I dont know if a fluid can reclaim lost holding power on the D/A especially with the amount of torque we crank out. I would say for our application better go with a hardware upgrade over the snake oils

It is funny how two of us have put lucas in a transmission to keep it working long enough for us to get rid of it...........

their oil treatment is great! Stopped my Bro's semi from smoking at 500,000. He just blew it up 2 weeks ago 800,000 on it without a rebuild.

I love their fuel treatment! It did increase my mileage and bing power back to my old truck. Being new I have not noticed a big gain in my new truck. I run it every other tank full now as a preventative. When low sulpher fuel is all that is out there I will be running it all the time.

There tranny stuff may help but it is not a fix!!!!

My friend uses lucas fuel tratment in his duramax. I personally don't like it, we were in Vermont and he left the bottle in the truck over night. When we went to pour it in it was thick like honey, and it was the cold weather formula to reduce jelling but it looked like it jelled from the cold.

I have never used their anti gel can't speak on it.

I am certain their injector cleaner would as it is kind of thick to begin with.

I would say for our application better go with a hardware upgrade over the snake oilsI think you're right about reclaiming lost holding power. Once the damage is done, no snake oil will fix it. The only remedy is a hardware upgrade.

I do seem to recall that a premium fluid (Transynd, Torque Drive) MAY hold a bit better than the OEM fluid used in the Allison. If not, I'm sure Mike L. will chime in & provide information with actual experience to back it up.

John at DPS should put this in his Ally to fix his busted output shaft. ):h
As a general rule addatives only help a little. My view on ths fenom is; you know you hurt the trans or whatever and you pour this bottle of magic in it and you begin to drive like a citizen cause you are skeerd.:D Now the trans acts better ( cause you got religion ) and you give all the credit to the bottle of stuff. Am I wrong guys?
