: delivery time (T.S.B.)
95geo 04-19-2004, 07:48 AM my tpw was the 29th of last month it was built and shipped on the 2nd its destination is a few miles down the road(pontiac east to the PEP vehicle dist. center)
i've been waiting patiently but 3 weeks is rediculous...... the est. time for delivery is 5-10 days from the build date, seems like someone isnt doing their job.
does anyone know of a customer complaint line or something?Edited by: 95geo
Mashwamp 04-19-2004, 08:27 AM chevrolet.com has a( contact us ) space on their website.I e-mailed them once on a saturday with a question and got a response the next day,not the answer I wanted though, mostly a sales pitch on the products.....good luck!....I'm still waiting too!
95geo 04-19-2004, 10:43 AM well it turns out that the pep lot sent the truck out to a local dealer to have a tsb done on the fuel system and i should have it tomorrow
95geo 04-19-2004, 07:26 PM ok since there isnt a TSB out on the lly i decided to get to the bottom of it....
i went to the dealer and talked with the servce dept. they said "ohhh that truck" i was like what do you mean that truck? turns out someone that works in the pep lot put gas in my truck, just great i total the first and now i get a f'ed up truck from day one.... my question is how long was the truck running before it was discovered and how much diesel to gas was in the tank
does anyone know how much fuel the plant puts in the truck?
maynard9089 04-19-2004, 08:23 PM I would not take that truck under any circumstance! Run! Find another dealer. I would also contact GM to let them know what has happened to this truck and to demand that you receive all current rebates when your newly ordered truck finally arrives. I would send my complaints to the president of GM at john.f.smith@gm.com. My complaints have always been answered quickly and with a good incentive!
Man, are you sure that you're not related to ProblemChild......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif
There was a thread awhile back that talked about a dealer putting gas in a new Dmax. Try doing a search for it, but IIRC, the general consensus was to not take the truck.
The member finally elected to do that after a fight with the dealer over getting his money back, he got it back and went elsewhere....Edited by: Zeeb
95geo 04-19-2004, 10:34 PM "GM" did this to the truck, my dad is going to find out who is responsible and go from there. im considering taking the truck only if i get the extended warranty, is there anything else i can get out of them?
im already getting 15% off of gms for geting a drive and buy then whatever incentives are out at the time, i wont be buying this for another 3 months but it will be in the family until then so it will be like a trial period. this is the second one i've ordered ive been waiting for this truck since i ordered the first on january 8th(i've been saving since last summer).... i wont be able to do a thing to this until mid july when its officially mine, i already have chrome h2's for it too http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif
my luck with vehicles simply sucks
and on top of all that they werent very specific when my dad asked what was up with the truck, knd of like they werent going to tell himEdited by: 95geo
Mashwamp 04-20-2004, 07:05 AM I hope my truck wasn't in line behind yours!
Please keep up the posts if you get more info.
maynard9089 04-20-2004, 04:44 PM I would bet money that "GM" didn't do this to your truck. I think your dealer is the problem. By the sound of it they haven't been straight with you. I would tell them to keep it and walk away. No discount or warranty is worth the lack of confidence that I would have in that truck. They have already proven themselves incompetent with your truck and now you trust them to install a new engine?
nassdmax 04-20-2004, 07:51 PM Maynard is completely right... GM is not the bad guy, it is the dealer, or better yet the young punk porter that didn't have a clue! Please do not blame GM for a problem that they did not create!!!!! GM never lets a vehicle out of the assembly plant that is not right.
Good luck to you with a new truck. Although you may think this truck is yours, it is truly not until Daddy is done driving it as a GM company car! Until then, treat it like it is yours, but realize that some pretty ignorant people will handle it in the processing.
OneTime 04-21-2004, 02:13 AM Geo,
I've been waiting for my truck to be built and delivered for about 7 weeks now. I had to call the dealer a few times to finally get them to lift a finger and locate the truck. Coincidentally it arrived today but will take a day or two until they have it "prepped". I sure hope those idiots aren't in the middle of replacing my motor.
Does anyone know if there are telltale signs that a new motor was installed by the dealer?
Dmax Tim 04-21-2004, 06:13 AM "im already getting 15% off of gms "
Is your dad able to put 7500 miles on the truck in 3 months?
PEP discount % goes by miles.
How about getting your dad to give 2 members his 'in the driveway' GID ##?
95geo 04-21-2004, 09:57 AM ok the general motors employed people at the pep lot (not at the plant) put the fuel in how is that not gm?
how come i need a new engine because some gas was put in the tank?
are you saying full throttle passes with nitrous propane and water/methanol do less dammage then idleing for a few minutes with a diesel gas mix? maybe everyone on the board who has done that needs a new engine......
if these engines are as stout and well built as we claim them to be there wasnt any harm done, if there was thats why theres a warranty.
im aware of the drive and buy pricing.... ill ask him about the "in the driveway" thing that you speak of, who wants it and what is it?
Dmax Tim 04-22-2004, 06:50 AM Have him or u go to https://www.gmfamilyfirst.com/pages/ff_login.jsp and select new user name.
all u need is his last 4 SS #s.
Set up account then u can go in get GMS, PEP and GID (gm in the driveway)#s.
When set up let me know, we can only give out 2 GID#s/month.
I've got people that need them, I'll PM the info.

Yes, I'm saying that. The nitrous, propane and water/methanol didn't go thorough the fuel pump and (fuel cooled) ECM. Those devices are designed to tolerate diesel fuel which is WAY WAY down the list as a solvent as compared to gasoline. Diesel fuel is by nature a lubricant, and genrally has additives to make it a better lubricant. Gasoline is not a lubricant. A common rail fuel injection system is a high pressure hydralic system and the injectors are precision hydralic devices, they were not intended to handle gasoline and they are sure to be galled by even a brief exposure to it as the working fluid.
Maybe these are risks you are willing to tollerate, but not in my truck. By the way, it didn't happen at the factory because they drive them out under their own power and (since octane is the enemy of diesel cumbustion) it wouldn't start with straight gasoline.
The prep guy works for the dealer. The dealer is definately not GM.Edited by: Colorado Kid
GMworldclassmaster 04-22-2004, 09:01 PM Okay, the dealer screwed the pooch in this case not GM, Now i have had customers who had brain farts and put gas in their Duramax... It was clean out (flushed) new filter and everything was fine. But it will be your decision on what to do....as for how much fuel is put into the vehs at time of delivery to the dealer.....usually 1/8th of a tank of gas never had more than a 1/4 at delivery......the dealership is the responcible party for filling the tank, and gm does not require that we fill the tanks .....it's just a good policy...
