MY FIRST POST ON TDP!!! Yeah! whoooo!!!

Took delivery of my LBZ on 4/15.....putting the finishing touches (are they ever finshed?) on her today and my 6" tip should be here by monday.

Anyway, put the 5" MBRP cat-back system on it yesterday (slammed the door on the kitty before it got out) I'm too chicken right now, it only has 729 miles on it. I really like it, not loud at all. Been driving with the BD (performance) tune for the last few days and this exhaust really helped that out. I could immediately tell the difference...a whole bunch more flow...seems like it flattened out the torque curve....more driveable now.....a slight inkling of that CTD big diesel sound mixed with the hair dryer sound, but not loud at all. Turbo seems slightly more noticeable, but my intake is stock.

lovein' it!! only paid $380 for it too, fit was pretty decent...except for that first "short" hangar.....is it supposed to be at that angle?

Oh yeah, I got 18.7 mpg on my first tank...driving around town mostly, but that is before lift, tires, the BD and exhaust.

See below for piks....

gmann out!

Did you get the CEL for insufficient EGR flow from the new exhaust?

Good question on the CEL for insuffucuent EGR, lerdea.

no CEL's for insufficient EGR flow (only prob's. so far is ABS light because of the 37's and only at 78 mph.) I'm loving that 80mph at 1700 rpm's!!

It's just the cat-back system so it tied in right behind there, got it from xtremediesel, p/n MBS6024AL : http://www.xtremediesel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=952 free shipping over $200.

Beat a turbo'ed cobalt tonight (said "the only reason you beat me is because you got twin turbo's" What?!) He got a face full of 5" exhaust though!!

6" tip was drop shipped separately, supposed to be here tomm. mon. 5/1

G Mann did that exhaust have a flange that bolted right to the existing downpipe with cat, or is it a slip fit?

Second question, how much room did the 5" eat up of your spare tire area? If you could crawl under there and take a pic showing where the pipe crosses over the axle and turns to exit relative to the frame rail, that would be a huge help.

Just installed mbrp 5" this weekend. Got rid of cat and the muffler, it sounds awsome, defineitley a different sound than all the other engines.

Did you order your mbrp 5" without the muffler or did you do that yourself? I think thats what im going to get but i dont want no muffler and i wasnt sure if you could order it that way. thanks.

I ordered it with the muffler. The kit fits all trucks crew, ext, reg cab and long and short beds. Since i have a reg. cab we had enough pieces to use the system w/ out the muffler. Since you have an ext. cab you might need to visit you local truck parts store and get a piece of 5 inch and a union and some clamps. PM me if you have any other questions.

Slip fit right behind the cat, you use the stock coupler to join the 3.5" to 5" adapter.
